Marriott/SPG ambassador (legacy SPG 100 night)

I have yet to combine my SPG and Marriott accounts as I will qualify for ambassador status by staying 100 + nights this year at SPG legacy properties.

Question is, if I combine my accounts will I then be ineligible to receive ambassador status when I hit 100 + nights at SPG legacy properties? Note that I will not have the $20k spend requirement, hence qualifying with 100+ nights at ONLY spg properties.

hope someone can answer this as calling the platinum line I haven't found anyone reliable that could actually answer this.

thanks in advance.

Hi Aker,

Combining your accounts will not make you ineligible to receive Ambassador status under SPG legacy criteria.

However, expect your ambassador status to not show up until after the January sweep for legacy rules. But given what many have reported, you probably won't get contacted by an Ambassador until well after that anyway. Also, be sure to capture all account information once you hit the 100 SPG nights so you have something to send in should they miss your account.

Sorry if this has been asked already. I combined my two accounts together. Spg I have 71 nights and 28 Marriott. My account has 99 nights. I was told by ambassador services since the merger only 44 nights would count on the Spg since Marriott only gives you credit for one Room. But when I booked several rooms it was before the merger. After the merger I only book the room i am staying in.

CSR was wrong, and yes it's been mentioned a few times.. Unfortunately the case way too often these days. Today, you are allowed night credit for your room only, but you can earn points on up to three rooms.

I do not know what to expect, whether or not it will respect the inherited rules, I am having too many problems with the disastrous SPG / Marriott customer service.

Currently I did not combine my Marriott and SPG accounts, because I expected to reach the PP Ambassador level and then combine them.
My main trips were always with SPG, this year Marriott said (and so it appears on the site www.spg.com) that the members who complete 100 nights in the year 2018 in SPG hotels would be eligible for the highest status.

10 days ago I met the necessary requirements (100 nights in SPG hotels), but my status was not updated. I called the SPG and Marriott call center, and I got at least 10 different answers, among them: wait at least 10 days, the states update in January, I have to spend USD 20000, combine my MR accounts and SPG, that the stays prizes do not count for the qualification, that if I made a single night in Marriott hotels I am no longer eligible.
As you can see, in the care centers NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING, and at the same time, I still do not have the status that corresponds to me.
I really do not know who to turn to, as I also sent emails through the Marriott website and email accounts such as [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] and platinumservice @ starwood-service.com
They answered the emails from an SPG account telling me to "send the folio of my 100 nights", this is tremendously ridiculous !, as it is intended that I keep folios of hotels for the whole year, so they grant me the status. These are stays that are already published in my account.

Actually, I feel abandoned by SPG and Marriott. It is a lack of respect that you do not have what you should have, especially taking into account the loyalty that I made this year to your hotels. I do not know who to claim and what is granted to me.
