How will my Eligible Status Years for 2022 be applied to my Account and when?

If you maintained the same Elite status in 2022 that you started with in 2022 , your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be applied to your Account in January 2023.

If you achieved a higher Elite status during 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for the new, higher tier was applied at the time of achievement.

If you did not meet the published criteria to renew your current status in 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be added in January 2023, and your Eligible Status Year for your new status will be added in March 2023 when your Elite status is updated.

===

When will my 2021 qualifying year of Elite status be applied to my Account so I can track my path to Lifetime Elite Status?

As part of our regular process, Members receive their qualifying year towards Lifetime Elite status in one of two ways:
  1. If you maintain the same Elite level that you started the year with, your Qualifying Year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January of the following year. Please Note: In November 2021, when we extended the Elite status that Members earned in 2019 or 2020, Members received their 2021 Qualifying Year of Elite status.
  2. If you achieve a higher Elite level during the year than the previous year, your Qualifying Year for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement. Please Note: If you achieved a higher Elite level during 2021, your 2021 qualifying year of Elite status, was applied at the time of achievement.

If you maintain the same Elite level for 2022, your 2022 year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January 2023. If you achieve a higher Elite level during 2022, your 2022 year of tenure for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement.

Examples:
  • A Member achieved Gold Elite in 2019 and enjoyed the status in 2020. They received their 2020 year of Gold Elite status in July 2020 when we extended their status. Due to status extensions, the Member received their 2021 year of tenure in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Member achieved Platinum Elite in 2020 and enjoyed the status in 2021. They received their 2021 year of Platinum status in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Gold Elite Member achieved Platinum Elite in April 2021; the Platinum year of Elite status for 2021 was applied upon achievement (in April 2021).

New lifetime member posts, and congratulatory responses, should be in this thread.

Perhaps a helpful moderator could move those posts?

How to become Lifetime marriott bonvoy Platinum Elite member

Before the Bonvoy, I was staying at Marriott for 4 nights a week for a year. This did not get me a Lifetime status.

With the current Bonvoy terms, what is that I can do to get some status - perhaps CCs with small annual fee?
Any other tips?

It's all spelled out on Marriott's Website: https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/mem...time-status.mi

Lifetime Platinum is earned by being Platinum Elite or Higher for 10 years and having 600 qualifying lifetime nights.

If you live in the U.S., or a few other select countries, you can earn 15 nights per year with a personal Marriott BONV°Y™ credit card, and another 15 nights with a business Marriott BONV°Y™ AmEx card ($125/yr., w/ 35K-point certificate).

This will get you 30 nights annually toward the 50-night requirement. There is a $95 Chase Visa that gives a 35K-point cert., or a no-annual-fee card without.

If you want to splurge on the $650 Marriott BONV°Y™ Brilliant AmEx card as your personal card, you would earn 25 instead of 15 nights for that, bringing your personal plus business card total to 40 for the year (25 + 15), leaving only 10 nights to stay in a hotel to attain Platinum Elite status for the year, one or two of which can be with the annual certificate(s) and receiving Platinum Elite status as a card benefit.

Doesn’t the Brilliant card come with Platinum status outright?

Thanks. What the 25 nights help with is

- working towards the 600 nights requirement for LT status
- qualifying nights towards Titanium status (requires 75)

LT Gold at the moment 515 nights and 7 years Platinum or higher. Will get the AMEX card next year when my Titanium runs out. That will get me LT Platinum in 3 years after that with the 25 days and Platinum Status and a few random stays, I'll be LT Platinum.

Lifetime titanium status

Hi everyone,

I still saw people getting lifetime titanium status. How did that work? I was platinum status before they merged in 2018 and on my way to lifetime platinum status. Can I still get lifetime titanium status after 750 nights and 10 years of platinum status? Thanks!!!

Marriott is no longer offering lifetime titanium status. Existing lifetime titanium members at the time it was discontinued are grandfathered and still have it. Currently lifetime platinum status is the highest lifetime level you can earn It is possible, though most folks think it is unlikely, that Marriott could reopen and offer lifetime titanium status again in the future. YMMV...

Nyah, nyah.

Actually, I don't think there's much difference between Platinum and Titanium aside from the points multiplier, so you're not missing much.

I'm pretty sure Titanium was a gesture to keep top-tier Marriott elites happy through the merger, but practically speaking and based on what I hear from Titanium friends (including one Lifetime Titanium), I don't think there's much difference between the experience of being a Plat or Titanium member. My two cents.

As others have said, it's been gone for a while. You can read about it here.

I agree. Mr. is lifetime Titanium (but I make all the travel arrangements) and we are rarely upgraded and are never able to use SNU certificate. The may be the result of our type of leisure travel.
