These days I refuse to leave a Starriott without a hard copy of the final bill. I don't trust the system to send it to me by email and I don't want to spend hours and hours on the phone trying to track it down.

On a dif note - chatting w/ a friend who works for a MAR property & he said that they had a guest come to them at 10:30pm the night before check-out & ask if they could get a discount on the last night stay because they were leaving "early". Answer was no, they'd still be charged the full rate, as housekeeping wasn't there at 10:30pm & even if they were it would take time to clean the room, & odds of being able to re-sell the room at 11:30pm were slim to zip.
