The status reset always takes place on 31-Dec. Any status earned applies for the remainder of the qualification calendar year, all of the following calendar year, and through the end of February of the subsequent year. My expectation is that once you complete the challenge, your status will be valid until the end of February 2028. I do not really see any relevance of 1-Mar here.

Hi all,
I am currently doing the platinum challenge, started mid-January, so have until the end of April to do 16 nights. I am currently sitting on 12 nights during the period. I wanted to check if there are any implications to completing the 16 nights before the status reset on March 1st? ChatGPT told me that if I complete the challenge before the status reset, I will only have status until end Feb 2027, whereas if I complete the challenge after March 1st, I will have until end Feb 2028. Does anyone have any experience of this? If a Member completes their Challenge and is upgraded between February and December, that Member will get the upgrade year plus an additional year. Thank you Christina. So since I started the challenge in January, if I complete the 16 nights in February, I will receive status for the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027, is that correct?

Hello all and Marriott Bonvoy Lurker, status challenge is totally new to me and I have 2 questions. I’d like to understand how it works regarding the next levels once someone successfully completes the challenge. Let me try to explain myself with an example:
For instance, if she has 10 nights already, and the challenge is 20 nights to reach Platinum, once she completes the challenge and reaches 30 nights in total she will become Platinum for the rest of the current year and the following calendar year, and plus 2 months. In order for her to reach Titanium this year, does she then need to add 45 nights (75-30) on top of her 30, or, would the 25 nights (75-50) – the mileage between platinum and titanium – suffice? I guess it is the former, correct? My second question is: Can one request a challenge aiming at a specific level? In other words, does one have the option/luxury of requesting a challenge “not for Platinum but for Titanium”? Thank you! |

This remains true however one attains Platinum Elite status -- whether by challenge, Brilliant AmEx Card, or Lifetime Platinum (LTP) Elite status. :star:  |
Just completed the Platinum Challenge, so if anyone wants to know about recent experiences, just let me know.
