FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: cmhsieh54
cmhsieh54 in post #1965 suggests that if you have an upcoming stay and if the online system (i.e. website/app) loses your confirmation number, and your online/telephone correspondence with corporate hotlines get you nowhere, call the hotel directly and give them your name and check-in date. Chances are quite high they'll find the confirmation number on their end and they will add it back to your online profile. It's a 2-minute fix; and a better day when we all don't have to be troubled by 'bugs'.
__________________________________________________
(Below is Marriott's own guidance about this 'bugs' thread)

If you're here, you are obviously experiencing some issues with the web site. Our apologies for any inconvenience. We have an interest in giving you the best web experience possible, so here are some tips on how to get any problems resolved:

First of all, the web assistance team has this suggestion for you:

"We first suggest the normal steps of clearing their cache (temporary files) and cookies, logging out of their Marriott Bonvoy account online, then close all browser windows before trying again. Please note that clearing cookies may also remove any stored passwords in the browser.

It is important for them to log out to ensure no bad/old data is saved and so that the online account has a chance to refresh.

You may already be aware of this, but note that cache and cookies are 2 different things. The cache memory is what remembers old content for faster page loading and may cause errors after updates. Cookies are mostly only meant for tracking during the current session. Both can still remember old errors that may have existed in the browser."

You should also be aware that being on a VPN sometimes interferes with your browsing experience. Try browsing without being on a VPN and see if this fixes the issue.

If none of this resolves your issue(s), you can you can send an email to [email protected] along with any screenshots leading up to and including the error message.

It also helps if you include the following information in your email:

-What browser(s) have you tried? Is the issue happening over multiple browsers or just one?
-Are you using a desktop/laptop or a mobile device?
-If you are using mobile device does this issue persist when on a desktop/laptop?

Once we have this information, we can forward it on to the web assistance team for further review, so please be as complete as possible.

If you are having an issue with any of the Marriott Bonvoy apps, you can send the following information directly to the Marriott Bonvoy App team at [email protected]:

-What device and operating system are you using?
-What version of our app do you have installed?
-What is the problem you have encountered?

Actual enhancement? Chrome had my Marriott number + password stored today...first time I think (vs. having to click into each field before to get it to populate).

Noticed this too. The previous page was a window popup. Now it is a full page redirect, which Chrome is able to recognize.

No access to my reservations

Dear Marriott:
I have spent more than 1/3 of the year in your hotels. Do you think that you can fix your interface with Starwood ( the brand I have stayed in) so that I can see my 15 upcoming reservations? My ambassador has tried repeatedly. You have had more than 90 days to work out your "kinks". ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. GET IT TOGETHER! Count me as REALLY angry at this point.

Gee, if only we had a single thread to consolidate all of the integration issues Marriott is having.

Issues Linger on SPG App/Web Site

I had activity in August 2018 on my SPG number. However, my account on SPG still shows the points are expiring February 28, 2019 on the SPG app. I called SPG and was told that they could not understand the reason the account has a expiration as there is current activity. The associate just manually extended the expiration to February 28, 2020.

Also, special rates on legacy SPG properties are not loading. I called both the Marriott and SPG reservation lines and no one is able to assist. I have left a message for the hotel to look into the matter.

Anyone else have either of these experiences? I thought most of the website/app issues should have been resolved by now.

For crying out loud... Trying to make a reservation for next week. Everything was going well. Found the hotel, room, and rate I wanted. I was about to confirm the room then got a 504 Gateway Timeout. Going back to Marriott.com, all I get are 401 Authorization Required errors.

It's been 12+ months since the new website came on-line. It's been 3+ months since the merger... and it still can't even do the basics, like sort hotels by price or even make a stinkin' reservation. Screw it, next week's going to Hilton.

CC: Mr. Marriott’s Office of Consumer Affairs
via FAX: to the hotel I almost booked, when Marriott.com shows up again so I can get the fax number from it.

Good to let them know, but many other sources for contact info. Try Google or Trip Advisor. If you're lucky there will be a property page that is working so you don't have to wait for marriott.com to come back online.

Looks like the migration of legacy SPG hotels onto Marriott's reservation platform is complete: December 11th was supposed to be the day that the last four legacy SPG brands [St. Regis, Luxury Collection, Aloft and Element] transition over and I just performed a few searches across different hotels across the brands in different cities, and can confirm that the starwoodhotels.com domain is no longer appearing as a frame within the screen.

Done-diddly-un!

Now all hotels have been migrated to the Marriott system they’ll hopefully look to fix some of the most damaging errors on it.

Noticed that today when making next week's reservations. It even recognized one of my corporate codes across legacy brands without the need to run a separate search using the SET code. Plus, as noted earlier, the top login section remembers login on Chrome. Also the address box seems to be working better.

On the other hand, when using another one of my corporate codes, the search across hotels shows "the server is being stubborn" but I am able to look for that rate if I get into the individual hotel.

Progress ...
