I'll be interested in your thoughts on the JW. I am headed to there in late August and still deciding between the Ren & JW.

Also consider the Marriott Ocean Park which usually has good rates if you don't want to stretch to the JW and is one stop from Admiralty on the MTR. Just not if you're there a Saturday night when it's packed with badly-behaved families going to the waterpark next door.

I always wonder why they can't put this sort of info on the web site. I'm constantly trying to hunt down direct email addresses. Good luck and please post if you find it!

This is $1800 for my dates in about 6 weeks' time. What are the suites like here? Can probably burn a SNA here.

I just checked out yesterday. I have stayed here about 30 times. Lately I am always getting upgraded as an elite and a long time customer to the studio suite (room numbers ending in 21). It's not a true suite, but a really comfortable room with a fantastic view across to Kowloon. The standard room is small, I would use an SNA here.

Thanks for the feedback MW147. Does the studio suite have a sofa in it?

How does the Ren lounge compare with the JW? Is JW worth 50% more for basic room? The website didn’t mention any whirlpool / jacuzzi at the Ren, is there one by the pool / in the changing room?

As I’m locally based, I’m more interested in the lounge and hotel facilities than the room size etc. Thanks.

Yes, it has a sofa. Not one that opens into a bed, not really one anyone could spend the night on. But fine for relaxing and watching TV or looking out for a great view of Kowloon.

I have not stayed at the JW since they moved the lounge so I can't compare. I will say that the lounge at the Ren has a great view from the 40th floor, is comfortable but not very large, and can get crowded. Service is good, breakfast is more than adequate with Western and Asian choices.

Thanks. And I’m assuming occupancy would be low at weekends nowadays with the protests, meaning the lounge shouldn’t be so crowded?

It really depends on what is going on at the Convention Centre, but I agree it is likely to be less crowded than usual.
