This!

If you could somehow move the W to where the Sheraton Towers is located, it would be the best W in the world.

Until then, I think the W South Beach wins it for the perfect location, large rooms (even base ones) and relaxed pool scene.

Clear winner: W Hong Kong

I also much enjoyed W Koh Samui for very different reasons.

I’ve yet to stay in any North American property that would put the W in wow.

Surprised to see so many people praising the W Hong Kong. It's definitely a favorite for me too—but didn't realize it was so much beloved.

I do agree that the location and view could be a bit better, and I'm not a fan of the giant labyrinth of a mall you have to get through to find it. But, the rooftop pool is definitely killer.

I want to return to the W Guangzhou for another stay where I don't check in close to midnight and leave early AM.

And for some reason, I enjoyed my stay at the W Hollywood

W South Beach Miami
W Montreal (but that was years ago, admittedly)

All for very different reasons. I do love a good W Hotel!

I am dating myself by posting this but the original W New York in the first couple of years it was open was one of the most enjoyable places I ever stayed. It was new and different and the fact the rooms were tiny was actually kinda of novel. Did I mention the bar, it was the greatest. Now I grant you it is not so good but back then it was the standard.

I also liked the W Mexico City when it first opened. Interesting rooms and a fabulous crowd.

Most recently though the W Barcelona has it all in my opinion.

What's everyone's favorites; and if we were to collectively crown a single winner, which would it be?

For me, that's an easy call: the W Amsterdam, which shines in many categories:

- historic building
- modern design
- service
- food & beverage
- unique creative and varied room types
- platinum recognition
- fun party destination

A few others really shine in certain categories:
- W Boston -- great service and recognition
- W HK -- probably the most fun / party hotel in HK. rooftop pool parties? yes please!
- W Guangzhou -- impressive how far they've gone here; everything is grand

Many are well, fine, but nothing to write home about (W SF, W Union Square NYC, W Austin, W Bellevue (cool design, terrible service))

Some are just bad (W New Orleans)

A well executed W though remains my favorite hotel experience. Anyone else have any favorites, would love to explore more of the great ones!
Well for me it would have been the W Phang bu5 i5 appears to have disappeared from the spg list! Such a shame if true as due to open jan 1 2018

My best stay ever at a W was the W Bogota--really outstanding in almost every way (aside from issues with breakfast). Great rooms/suites, great service, great concierge, great food/beverage, lively scene at night, good location, etc.

Did I mention the air con was excellent, too?

(I would have stayed at the newly renovated Four Seasons Casa Medina there, but it had no air con at all. The W Bogota truly held its own.)

Btw, we LOVED Bogota, and can't wait to return.

I enjoyed walking under the lamp in the suite there. Check-in staff bought us a bottle of wine (sent up to the room) "to help with the jetlag". Still not sure how that was supposed to work

W Taipei has an awesome location: It's diagonally across from a shopping mall with a Din Tai Fung in the basement!

I was disappointed with the W Taipei. Found it overpriced, generic, with a decent-but-not-that-great breakfast, and meh service. Also got little recognition as a Platinum 100… nobody even bothered to inform me of the free-flowing cocktail happy hour at Yen bar… so that felt like a big "F U." Had to learn of what I'd missed out on later here on FT because the front desk attendants were horrible.

I came out with the distinct impression that service was horrible.
