The StR Cairo website states it's to open on 1 October 2017, having shifted several times, but still isn't bookable.

I've reached out to ask when it will be given that it may on Egyptian time. The started hiring staff last October.

That said, it will be great to have an alternative to the two FS properties.

You're almost a decade late as there is already St. Regis Cairo thread.

I started a pre opening thread. Didn't post a press release but the website that is now open and will also post the response I get from SPG.

Any idea if this will even open this year?

I received zero response from SPG or the property. I very much doubt it will be 2017.

I also emailed them this week as I'll be in Cairo late November. No response yet.

Unfortunately, they don't appear to yet have social media channels active, at least not in English.

Website now says Opening December 2017. Not taking reservations yet. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Last week it just said "Opening 2017" so who knows... Maybe by August 2018? :P

Given the developers are Qatari and the state of the relationship between the two nations, I wouldn't bank on it.

I wouldn't bet on this year tbh...

Is that in the Islamic calendar?

Now says "December 2018".

I want to book this for a 3rd-6th January 2019 stay, that's why I've been keeping an eye on it. Currently have Cairo Marriott booked for my dates.
