Is the email for the lobby butler in the wiki the best point of contact for any questions prior to the stay? I am trying to find a tour guide for Cairo so looking to reach out to the hotel to see whether they have any recommendations.

My correspondences were all with the lobby butler email, but I didn't inquire about tour guides.

Hi there,

I just booked ST R Cairo for 2 nights for Feb 2024 (very early booking :) ) using points
I tried to apply my SNA to this booking but I don't see an option on the PC,
then checking on the mobil app and I see "This reservation isn't eligible"

Reading old posts in this thread, this STR was not SNA eligible back in 2021 but was participating in 2022.
I wonder if they decide to stop participating in 2023? or my booking is too early to apply SNA?

Anyone has 2023 booking and able to apply SNA to the booking?

Yes, I have 2024 St Regis Cairo nights with SNA available (Up to 2bdrm Appartment).

Are you sure you have 2024 SNA's ? Ie. have passed 50/75 nights this year and chosen SNA's as your gift. SNA's earned from 2022 status are only until valid until 31DEC2023 and can't be used for 2024 stays.

Thank you, what you said make sense now, I am over 50 nights this year but have not selected the SNA for 2024 since I still have couple 2023 SNA left.
It is great to hear that STR cairo accept SNA for upto 2 bed room apartment.

Recently had a 1.5 night stay at the St Regis Cairo. I was quite impressed - it's one of the better "new" St Regises that I've been to recently, as so many in new-built buildings opened in the last 5 years seem to have been a letdown.

I booked a partial Nile view room on points and was upgraded to an Astor Nile-front room. As a Bonvoy Plat I don't expect suite upgrades, so I was happy with this. The hard product of both the room and the common areas were quite impressive. Service of the hotel overall was also excellent, with the one exception being the St Regis bar which was extremely poor, even by the low standards set by most other St Regises globally.

I'd definitely stay again if in Cairo, though perhaps not if it's $500+ as it was last weekend.

Sounds great and a lot of the anecdotes remind me of the St. Regis Mumbai. Curious if anyone has an opinion if this would be a better property for a 4 night leisure stay with my brother. The other option we are considering is the Four Seasons Nile Plaza. Looking for nice pool / gym, good breakfast, decent location for sightseeing, and a couple of fun on-site restaurants/bars/shisha lounges.

I was wondering if anyone knows if they will allow 3 guests or if they are very strict about this issue ?

No experience with the 4S but had a GREAT stay at the SR. Pool is super, albeit limited chairs when busy. Gym well equipped. Indoor pool great and under utilized. Breakfast is excellent. Location: very convenient to the National Museum, not so much to Giza--though not much is. Right on the corniche which is being renovated and provides a nice spot to walk the Nile. We had room service 2x (excellent) and ate at all on-site options other than the Italian restaurant which was an AYCA buffet the night we considered it. Adding: the staff are amazing and ready to help with anything that comes up.

My wife and I stayed for a short weekend break away from “home” at the St Regis Cairo. So far the only hotel of the Marriotts in Egypt we’ve been to has so far been the Westin in New Cairo.

Thankfully the stay at the St Regis at the Nile Corniche was unlike that stay. Not that the Westin is bad but you know Egyptian staff / people and some of their, apologies quirks. I don’t mean this in a negative way, but as someone who speaks a little and understands Arabic I’m aware of some of the cultural problems.

Anyways. Right from when we arrived in our Uber we were impressed by the drop off area. And we got a glimpse of the property and the personnel. By Egyptian standards the service is impeccable. Although most staff were Egyptian the level of professionalism and pride of being St Regis was very evident.

We were upgraded to a Astor Nile view room and it was spectacular. An issue with the air on was fixed within 30 minutes of reporting it. Tops. Butler service top notch and the guest relations were amazing. Since our guide was surprised that a German speaks some Arabic she told me that she would get me a book so we can speak Arabic next time.

on the day of checkout I found not any tourist book, but what my wife calls an extremely good university book for Arabic. This for me goes beyond what I’d expect.

Anyways, the food we sampled was the Friday brunch, which was superb. We got a “sample” plate of meat and seafood which probably nearly destroyed the table. All good options were good. Only slight downside was the omelette, which was very watery. Or over over easy. The rest of as delicious.

Breakfast is stunning and I highly recommend asking for someone to get you foul and bread. It’s like home.

i managed to redeem the nights for points and got what I’d say an excellent deal. Right now prices are hiked up from $380/night to $590/night or was it GBP. So for point redemptions it might be a good idea.

The pool during our stay was empty so was the indoor plunge pool. Very shallow at 1.20m but nice. Steam room and sauna are at the spa and worth a visit.

The bar area was nice, but cocktails aren’t their strong suit. The water garden and daily champagne ceremony were a great way to feel happy about first world luxuries. Was enjoyable too!

Overall the best of the Marriott’s and Hilton’s I’ve stayed at in Egypt by far. Would I return? Yes! But as they say. The price needs to be right!

Or the point to pay ratio :)

Very early morning arrival

Plans changed from 11:30pm arrival to 4:00am arrival of same date. ETA StR 7:00am?!?! Anyone had experience with how accommodating StR Cairo is with this. I’m not Bonvoy ambassador 😂, only lowly Platinum (just made 50 nts again). Wonder if I should book the airport Le Meridian. Coming off a long flight via AUH from the states.

StR Cairo are very serviceminded and accomodating. Have checked in at 10:00am without any discussion, and they are rarely heavy booked. I’d just head in directly from airport and be prepared to hang out be the pool ifor a short while in the odd chance they don’t have room ready.

Thank you. Will chance it. There seems to be a lot of rooms for sale.

Just to close out my discussion. Thanks again for your input. Uber to hotel directly from airport, got there around 8:00am, had to wait about 2 hrs for room to be ready. Offered a couple cups of coffee at the cafe while waiting.
