As above.

Stayed last night, part of a surprise for my daughters birthday.

When I checked in I was a Preferred Guest, got the SPG floor, great view of lower Manhattan. (Was my 10th stay of the year so am now a 1st time Gold. )

The lobby was very cramped.

We had 2 cars but they only charged for 1.

If you had a choice between an Executive Suite with City View or Panoramic Suite with City View as your platinum upgrade which one would you choose? I believe I have been in both on previous visits but cannot remember which had a better layout and/or nicer view.

I've always enjoyed my stays there. They have a very good restaurant onsite that kind of turns into a sports bar at night. I did not explore the area, but there is a landing for a ferry that will take you to Manhattan just a few steps away. You can purchase tickets to it from the front desk and there used to be buses on the other side that would drop you off at scheduled stops for free. You get on them as you exit the ferry station.

I stay here a few nights a week for a long-term consulting project. It's a nice property - the rooms are relatively large, with a couch and sitting area in each one, and are clean and modern.

As William mentioned, getting into Manhattan is very easy via the NY Waterway Ferry (Weehawken/Lincoln Harbor stop) which goes directly to the Ferry Terminal on 39th St and 12th Ave in midtown. It runs every 15 minutes during peak travel hours, and every 20 min off-peak - it's about $9 each way and you can buy ticket from the front desk. The ferry is literally steps from the front door of the hotel lobby.

The on-site Italian restaurant has good food, there is also a Ruth's Chris and a Houlihan's sports bar right across the street, and a Chart House a little further north.

The club lounge is nothing special, but has cereal, pastries, juice, coffee, and hand fruit in the mornings, and usually 2 fried appetizers in the evenings.

recently figured out that i will be arriving at penn station around 11pm & this would unfortunately result in me missing the last ferry to the hotel....are there any other public transportation options for me to get to the hotel or would i have to take a cab????

You could also take the PATH train to Hoboken then take a taxi from there, but it will be a bit cumbersome. Probably easiest to just take a taxi but NYC taxis are not obligated to take you there and the rate will be negotiated - approx 50-60 including tolls.

It's not especially convenient, but you could take the PATH from 33rd St to Hoboken, then the HBLR to Lincoln Harbor.

I'm sure there's some buses that shuttle across the Lincoln Tunnel, but I'm not familiar with them.

did a little bit of research & came up with a bus route from the port authority bus terminal at 42nd street & 8th avenue to the lincoln harbor station....bus # 158 departs at every half hour & drops you right next to the hotel....costs only $3.20....this would work out very well for me....

We have used this bus on many occasions between the hotel and Manhattan - it is very fast and convenient. Make sure that you are at the proper gate at the PA bus terminal as the gate changes for late evening buses.
