Hihi, the hotel shared that they are using a enhanced payment link with pay.bml.com.mv

Anyone can confirm if this link is still 6x as the hotel is insisting to prepay.

Yes my Bonvoy Brilliant statement shows 6x points for the payment I made through that link a few weeks ago

Hi everyone,
Firstly, this thread has been very helpful as I'm planning a trip to St Regis Maldives June 1-6 (hoping for decent weather...we'll see!). Few questions I'd appreciate your input:
1) Booked OWV for 5 nights with points (259k!!) as a Platinum member. It's low season, so I'm assuming getting a Sunset or a suite upgrade is a big possibility...thoughts?
2) I know water is expensive at restaurants and I think I saw a question above regarding taking water bottles from the room to meals. Do you think it's "frowned upon" to bring our own personal water bottles, fill up in room, take to restaurants? 🤣
3) When they say "casual dress code", is a t shirt and nice pair of shorts suitable?
4) First time staying at St. Regis with a personal butler. How much should I plan on tipping per day? Or is it per task (ie. ironing a shirt, requesting more water bottles)?
5) speaking of included butler service - how can I maximize using this service? turndown service? coffee? etc?

1) i wouldn't count on/assume anything as far as upgrades. email the property and nicely request, if available and hopefully they can make something work for you on arrival.
2) i see no issue with bringing your own water personally.
3) yes t shirt and shorts are OK. there will be others dressed up in more beach formal, but you're OK. exception is maybe at dinner, some places wont allow like swimwear.
4) I tipped at the end of each day. can't remember exactly how much, somewhere from $40-100. but entirely up to you.
5) if you haven't already, you can make restaurant and activity reservations now. do that and your butler will confirm on arrival. they can be utilized to set up special events/surprises, turndown service, room service, any other requests ie: drinks/food/supplies during the day, and golf cart rides pickup/drop off anytime.

We recently stayed for 5 nights in Nov
1) Booked OWV as well with points (280k) as Titanium. We took the first seaplane out and was able to check-in right away and upgrade to a sunset panoramic. It may help to get in early if possible. I actually didn't ask and was pleasantly surprised when we led us to the villa.
2) Yes, would recommend taking water to restaurants. That's what we did for dinner. Don't worry about being judged, everyone was super warm and welcoming.
3) That's fine for casual
4) We tipped end of stay when the bill came
5) Yes! Don't be afraid to ask and you can call for a golf cart ride anytime from anywhere on the island. If you have any requests for activities and restaurants, let your butler know early.

Seaplane luggage

Thank you both!
I looked up luggage capacity for the seaplane and I heard they池e strict. Does a standard large size luggage (I have an Away large) be okay? And how hot does it get in the seaplane? My wife will be 15 wks pregnant and I知 wanting to ensure she doesn稚 overheat.

The strict approach to luggage goes by weight, not so much by size. So as long as you don't exceed your weight allowance you are probably fine. All checked and carry on will be weighed together.

Checked luggage you don't to bring to the seaplane and your carry on you only bring to the departure pier, the TMA staff will load it on the plane.

"The standard permissible weight is 25 kg (approx. 55lbs), which includes 20 kg of checked-in luggage and 5 kg of hand luggage per person. There is no additional baggage allowance allocated for infants. The weight for any bag should not exceed 32 kg. The per kg charge for baggage above the permissible limit is USD 5.00/- plus applicable taxes."

Anyone know how ancillary charges (meal plan, room upgrades, transfers, etc.) code on a credit card? Travel?
Thanks

I was looking to make a 7 night booking in November and I saw the OWV had a price of 654k points under the "Redemption" option, but then there was a "Redemption with Points Upgrade" option for 724k. I tried searching and couldn't figure out what the difference is between these options other than the obvious 70k points? Is the 724k for an unspecified but better OWV?

Similar experience for me as well. I pre-purchased $700 of F&B per day for $600. We are a party of 4 so will have no problem spending that much. I知 on resort until the 7th if anyone wants me to ask any specific questions.

Also it might be a longshot but we are looking to share a private fishing charter on the morning of the 5th. Have your butler reach out to Hamdhoon if you would like to join us.

I'm curious, when you pre-purchased that F&B credit, did that get you $700 of pre-tax food and beverage? In other words, if someone bought $700 of items off the menus it would come to $700 + service + tax so almost $900. Does the credit cover all those items before tax is applied? Or oes the credit only work towards the after-tax amount, which is around $550 of menu items?

Male airport

Can guests use the st Regis lounge at Male after leaving the property? We値l have a 9pm flight from Male to Doha. We値l have access to the airport lounge but I知 wondering if st Regis lounge would be nicer.

Yes they can. I was just there a couple weeks ago in the same boat, and they bring you to the st. Regis lounge after you get off the seaplane. They also give you a recommended time when you should leave, but you can dictate when you want to leave the lounge.

thanks! What time did st Regis kick you out? I知 a platinum so hoping for a late check out in June. And when did you get back to Male and did st Regis shuttle you to the airport?

They picked up our bags at 3, butler picked us up at 3:30, then got on the seaplane around 4:15. We got back to Male around 4:15 (the resort is 1 hour ahead). When we got back, they brought us back to the St Regis lounge, and St Regis drove us to MLE around 7pm. They took us all the way through check in and we finally parted ways at security.

Had exactly the same experience. The St. Regis lounge is much better than the business class lounge. SUV to the airport an hour before our flight and escorted through security.
