Yeah, likely. I was working EST remotely so from 15:00 - 23:00 and I couldn't have meetings with my camera on :(

Had a great stay here. Not too much to add to the previous reports, other than that the breakfast is worth using your welcome gift for. My husband skips breakfast so I could use the allowance for 2 people to almost cover my breakfast. It's very elaborate compared to other AC Hotels I've stayed at, with multiple cheeses, meats, including some Danish specialties.

Got upgraded to a corner room, which was spacious but also felt a little empty. Great views.

So to confirm, platinum members can use their "welcome gift" for breakfast? Or will it be some sort of F&B credit only? Considering how much Copenhagen / Denmark is known for its food quality, if it will only be a F&B credit I would rather take the points and enjoy the wonderful bakeries out there! :)

Are upgrades common in this hotel? Also, if one has back to back reservations (split up because the total is >10 nights), how will that work... will one get to keep the same room they are assigned to on the first booking into the second? Does it hinder the upgrade availability?

You get an F&B credit, which for two people roughly covers one person's breakfast. Slightly less.

As a rather frequent guest, I find them very good with upgrades. But generally my stays are short. I am sure they can arrange to keep you in the same room across all booking. But normally I would not expect much in terms of an upgrade over 10 nights. It does happen, but less likely.

So I guess it is not like the AC Colon Valencia which had a very nice breakfast buffet every morning! ;) That was a welcome surprise that came out of nowhere for me last year! As a solo traveller, the F&B credit won't do much.

When dark/late night, how safe is the area - from metro to the North building entrance? Is it eerily quiet that I would get creeped out and afraid of my safety or will I have nothing in general to worry about?

Nothing to worry about. A bit more life now, as a lot of the apartment blocks that were under construction in between is starting to have residents.

Have a one night stay here coming up this weekend, so will update on anything else not mentioned. As we're traveling with our 8 year old, hoping to get the same room as thereisnoaddress

My thoughts, YMMV

As promised, here's my take on this property.

In short: unless you specifically need to stay here for the conference location, or are desperate to burn points, just skip this place.

Nothing wrong with it per se: I reached out on the app explaining that we booked a room for two, but would in fact be 3 of us and they replied saying they upgraded us to a corner room and put an extra bed, which was much appreciated.

The location is just bad. It does a bad job of being an airport hotel, with a change to the metro and then a 10 minute walk. And of course it would be pointless to stay here and be going into and out of town every day.

The room was good, but the only partially frosted glass arrangement between the room and the toilet is just beyond the pale. Who in the world thought this was a good idea? You have more privacy in a public toilet stall than in your own room if you're sharing...

Breakfast was good but I think it favours quantity instead of quality. I found it to be expensive for what it offers. The buffets at both Scandics (in Malmö Stortorget and Copenhagen Falkoner) were much smaller but vastly superior in quality (and included in the rate for all guests).

As a sucker for loyalty programs I never thought I'd say that, but do yourself a favour and stay in a much better located, cheaper, and quirkier Scandic hotel instead of paying a premium to stay in the middle of nowhere. The things we do in the name of loyalty programs!

As a side note: my flight had IRROPS and despite being put by SK at Scandic Falkoner I found it easier to get to/from the airport to Friedriksberg by metro as, despite the distance, no changes or big walk was involved so total door to door time was actually shorter. So something to consider for those thinking of AC Bella Center as an airport hotel.

CPH-Flyer Jun 11, 2024 4:38 pm

A few points of references.

The AC is 450 meters from the metro station, the Scandic Falkoner (Radisson Blue Falkoner as it was) is 250 meters from the metro station there.

The AC was never intended as an airport hotel, there is a Clarion Hotel (where you don't have to get outside to get to the terminals) and a Comfort Hotel within the airport grounds. The ride from the airport by public transport is indeed a bit convoluted with a change, and the trains not necessarily being very frequent on the airport line, being 10-20 minutes apart.

The metro ride from Bella Center to Kongens Nytorv is 10 minutes. Which would bring you as central in town as you could almost be.

10 mins barely gets you from central downtown Toronto to the edge of it by metro ride.

If one can get this hotel for 925 DKK is it worth the travel time to get into the city center every day for ~10 days? Or does one really have to break the bank for the Copenhagen Marriott (to maintain loyalty and earn the nights) in order to stay closer to the city centre?

Price will probably play a big role in the choices. Public transport wise, Copenhagen Marriott is further from train and metro, but probably have some better bus options. And a number of sights would actually be walking distance.

I don't find the location inconvenient, while obviously not central either. But admittedly, I am not in town for sightseeing. I go to our office (bus from AC goes to the office) or I go to visit/meet family and friends. Metro works like a charm.

I stay at Copenhagen Marriott as well, based on pricing. But typically, the AC just ends up with a much better price benefits picture.

At 925 I'd say it was a no brainer to pick AC.

At 925 I can't resist picking it for my first time in Copenhagen! As for the two grocery stores on the other side of the metro tracks - which is better: Netto or Lidl for getting some snacks, water, juice/soft drinks?

Netto I'd say. There is also a Rema1000 a bit down the road. They are all discount supermarkets, where Netto and Rema has moved a bit a way from being hard discounters.

They have started renovating/refreshing the rooms and the floors. This is the second time I get one of the renovated floors. It kind of looks like itself, but not quite as white anymore. And the curtains are now in a more practical version in the corner rooms (junior suites as they call them). I have yet to see a regular renovated room, but I assume the colour palette is the same. It is nice to get away from the overly white colour scheme.

I see they kept the strange carpets in the room.
