Ive stayed here a few times over the past couple of years.
honestly, everything is ok. However for the price you pay... its costly!
rooms - a bit outdated but fine.
club lounge - poor food offerings but nice enough views.
restaursnts - good enough! There are three options: buffet, Pakistani, Chinese.
The hotel can regularly get pretty busy, Ive been there when award ceremonies are held and it can get noisy.
My colleagues rate the Pearl Continental as a better hotel but I like my points....

Haha, new record maybe?! I guess Karachi is just not the most popular destination..

Thanks for sharing. Agree on the price - I booked with points, the paid rate was over 200 USD..
I'm only there for two nights and it's my first time in the PK so I liked the idea of free airport transfers.
Will definitely share my experience once i'm back

Just came back and had a fantastic time in Karachi - really changed my perception about Pakistan.
I didn't spend that much time at the hotel but I thought it was fine (although probably not worth the cash price..). The staff was really nice and the renovated (executive?) room I stayed in was alright too. Public spaces have a some retro charme but everything is in decent condition. Breakfast in the restaurant was really good with the usual western options (and real coffee from a real espresso machine - why can't all hotels do that?!) and some local fare. I didn't check out the club lounge or restaurants but if you have some time I'd really recommend going out to eat.

This kind of destination seems to be off the radar to the vast majority of westerners, even the well-travelled types you get on FT. So any impressions from people who have travelled there are interesting.
Totally with you on the coffee part. It's amazing how many 5-star hotels have undrinkable machine coffee as the main or only option. I remember one breakfast where I asked the waitress if I could have some freshly brewed coffee as I didn't like the machine stuff and she went straight to the nearest machine with my coffee cup and selected Americano!
