Just came back and had a fantastic time in Karachi - really changed my perception about Pakistan.

I didn't spend that much time at the hotel but I thought it was fine (although probably not worth the cash price..). The staff was really nice and the renovated (executive?) room I stayed in was alright too. Public spaces have a some retro charme but everything is in decent condition. Breakfast in the restaurant was really good with the usual western options (and real coffee from a real espresso machine - why can't all hotels do that?!) and some local fare. I didn't check out the club lounge or restaurants but if you have some time I'd really recommend going out to eat.
