The hotel shuttle will take you to the train station & to the casino for free. Grab a business card from the driver & call for a pick-up whenever you're ready for one. I don't know what time in the morning they start, but they run til 10PM. When you dial the hotel's number on the business card, make sure you leave off the (0) when you dial otherwise you won't connect - it took us about 10 attempts to actually get connected.
The train to the airport would most definitely be the cheapest way (it'd be more than 5 bucks though, I'm sure), but in all honesty, I'd probably consider paying the 75 euros (note that this is a per person charge from what I understand) to take a helicopter as I've never done that before.
Not sure about the beaches in Monaco - it seemed the nicer beaches were in Nice - however, there may have been some - we were there last week & it was too cold for the beach.

Another little side note - if you want to gamble in the main casino, make sure you bring a suit as jacket & ties are required for men & I imagine it's dress to impress for women. It's also a 20 euro cover charge to get in the doors. The Sun Casino has free entry.

No, the fee to get in the casino is just that - a fee - no chips.
Not worth it IMHO.
Also, if arriving in NCE, there is a public bus that goes to the hotel (makes a few stops) - cost is something like 18 euro (doing this from memory - so no quotes on this one) and runs about every hour or so. Much better than the taxi.
As was noted, once at the hotel, the shuttle will take you just about anywhere you want, including places for dinner or the train station. The train station is great there as well.

The hotel has a free shuttle bus service that can take you to and from Monaco train station. When we were there it was a quite day and the driver very kindly gave us a guided tour of Monaco.

Monaco Marriott
We also love this hotel, the views from the seaview rooms are fab, but the rooms are small which should be noted. Otherwise cant fault this hotel, for the price and location (10-15 min walk to monaco centre or shuttle). It is miles cheaper than the rest of the hotels in monaco, the breakfast is lovely and also overlooking the marina, the bar is friendly and the staff are wonderful. We have been back many times. if you are a family you may find the pool abit small and concretey.. but its large enough for a quick dip and was fine for us. The hotel is also just round the corner from a lovely public beach.

the only bad part about the hotel bus is that it stops running at 8 or 9
so if yopu want to hit the club or casinos or cafes, you will need a rent a car or pay the taxi fee, although 1 nite i did walk back to the hotel after i "spent" too much in the casine

A very nice location with great views. The bed was nice, but the room upkeep and furnishings were more two star than four. Bathroom vanity made of cheap plastic to look like faux marble. Our bathroom sink had a large and unsightly crack down the middle. Tired furnishings (other than the bed) and television, needed to be replaced and updated. Television was small and had mediocre reception of a few channels. (I know, you're on the Riviera; why watch television? But it's nice for a few moments.)
But even with the negatives, this is a recommended location. Attractive hotel in a beautiful setting (the Alps on one side and the Med on the other). Walking distance from a very nice harbor with numerous choices of restaurants, and from many sites in Monte Carlo. Driving distance from spectacular mountain towns (Eze, among others). Very complete buffet breakfast served in a dining room with a view and additional seating on the patio outside the restaurant, facing the marina. Comped full buffet for plats (maybe golds?). Most rooms with very large balcony facing the Med. Very warm and service oriented staff. Extended happy hour in the bar provided drinks, wine, and beer at 50% off. (We enjoyed glasses of fine French champagne courtesy of this offer.) Be sure to walk out on the boardwalk and look back, to enjoy the spectacular view of the hotel framed by the mountains.)
Suggestions for improvements: update and renovate the bathrooms, update the room furniture and television, put clocks and coffeemakers in the rooms, give better directions to the hotel's indoor parking garage (we got lost going from the hotel entrance to the hotel garage.) Oh, and whatever flowery, perfumey scent is being used in the hallways, cut it out.

Has this hotel updated rooms to the new Marriott style? Any recent updates or additions/changes at the property?

I had a great time when I was there earlier this year - here's a more up-to-date thread on the hotel:
