Courtyard Naperville Review

I'm not sure this warrants its own thread. I had a stay at the nearby Courtyard Naperville. Overall a solid stay.

Decided to stay at the Courtyard over the full service property because I had a ton of luggage and wanted to be able to park near the door and go back and forth easily. As well, I wouldn't be eating breakfast at the property, so no need for a lounge/restaurant.

This is definitely an old style property. I had an upper floor room with a balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. It was obvious that the property is older but everything was clean and well-maintained.

One night was somewhat busy and I heard some noise from other guests but the rest of the stay was almost too quiet. It seems like suburban Chicago isn't an especially popular destination on a cold winter weekend.

Friendly service all around. Bistro open for breakfast only during my stay. No problem using the F&B amenity at the market for snacks instead.

I needed to go downtown at one point and ended up taking Metra. Tons and tons of open parking on the weekend and an easy one hour trip to Union Station.

If I was in a similar situation in the future, where I had to split my time between the suburbs and downtown, and had a car and tons of luggage, I'd gladly stay here again. Nothing especially luxurious but otherwise an easy stay.

Positives:
  • Easy parking
  • Everyone friendly
  • Room in good condition with nice little balcony
Negatives:
  • Not much nearby, car needed
  • Only one elevator and it's at the back of the property
  • A little bit of guest noise when busy
