JW in Cancun?

Want to use points to go here but they have a 3 per person/room policy incl kids. We have 2 children under 12; any idea if they are strict about this? Thanks!

Thanks, as always, for your fast response, socrates.....

but I inquired about this hotel a few months ago and the gal at the Platinum line steered me towards the Casa Magna Cancun Marriott because I had more than one child with me. She did say the maximum per room was two adults and one child. So, Casa Magna it is for our stay next February.

Just as an aside, in previous stays at other Cancun hotels no one has ever questioned the number of children or occupants in the room. They don't seem to worry too much about how many you have, so I'd think that Debbie F would be ok as long as they had her bed preference.

I've heard nothing but glowing reports about the JW, so enjoy! And bring your American money...it is widely accepted in Cancun at a favorable rate among small, local vendors.

I hate to say this being a loyal marriott platinum for the last 4+ years ... but this year i used priceline to book my hotel, and got a great deal at the Westin Regina in Cancun. So i called Starwood and they comped me to Diamond, Upgraded my room by 2 levels, and gave me unlimited access to ... the > Concierge Lounge <

So maybe Marriott should consider having a lounge in either the JW or the Casa Magna

Starwood doesn't have "Diamond" status so I'm guessing they comped you Platinum. If upgrades are important to you, *wood should please you. Marriott has their strengths too, but it is not upgrades. BTW, *wood will not be giving benefits like upgrades on priceline bookings starting in 2004.

GO BROWNS!!

JW Marriott Cancun / CasaMagna Marriott

Hello All,

By any chance, does anyone have any codes for the JW Marriott Cancun Resort and or CasaMagna Marriott Resort? I was tried LPR and TFB codes this morning, (which the prices seem lower, but now they are not).

Also, if you have any experience with either hotel, please let me know. Planning my 30th birthday for May 2004, and I am considering one of the Marriotts in addition to: Ritz Carlton, Fiesta Americana Condesa and Fiesta Americana Coral. Already have stayed at the Gran Melia and Omni Resorts.

Yes, I am aware of the Marriott COdes thread. Just wondering if there are any codes for the two Marriotts in Cancun.

Thanks for the responses.

Upgrade Me:

Thank you for your response. I already know I should search, as maybe someone wrote a complete Vacation report at another site, and may want to direct me to it.

To supplement what you find here, you may want to post your question at www.cancunandrivieramaya.com at their 'vacation here' forum. A search there may also yield a few trip reports.

The FACB and the Ritz are the 2 nicest hotels there. The JW Marriott is fairly new and quite nice...the CasaMagna is a little older.

Maybe you could come back and post what you find here to benefit the rest of us?

Good Luck

While I don't know any codes other than M11 I have stayed at both properties. The Casa Magna is great and the new JW is massive an and a bit overkill IMO as well as the Ritz. My personal favorite preference is the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach. The rooms are fantastic! and all ocean front. You do run the risk of not getting an ocean front at the Marriott...

Good Luck and post another question, as I have at quite a few properties in Cancun (with the Coral Beach still being my favorite).

The AAA rate is the best I've gotten.
