Not to say that I, too, will not be trying to get it waived/extra miles when mine comes due, but I think I'll keep the card even if I get nothing - as someone pointed out, I, too, have used so many of the Amex Bonus offers that I feel it's already been paid for.

I think they were simply asking the CSR what was included in the $65 annual fee. He/she didn't have to ask, of course, as they should have flooded him/her with that information regardless of any questions asked. The most valuable thing to me is the nights/stay credits ... definitely worth $65 each card annually (although getting a 7,000 point bonus here and there isn't a bad thing, either).

Data point: Amex SPG business...offered $50 statement credit to keep account open. Spend was less than $6k

Offered 1000 points + 500 after $1000 spend in 60 days. 12k spend last year. Took it.

Offered 3K points or $25 statement credit. Was hoping to get the 7K point offer some have mentioned recently. Around $10,000 spend last 12 months. HU will CA tomorrow.

Update: tried a second time, got the same offer. Rep claimed if he could offer more he would have led with that offer. Cancelled card.

Is there a general discussion thread for this card?

*edit*

My search was failing for some reason. It's here for anyone wondering: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...er-thread.html

$0 spend, 0 retention offer on business card, tried twice. Both reps said no bonus points on business card.

Kept it just for the stay credit towards my SPG status. If I would Small Business Saturday, I can get the fee back.

Just called to cancel business card. CSR asked a lot of questions about expected future spend. (Spend over first year of card was mostly the $5K needed to earn the signup bonus plus perhaps $500-1000 more.) CSR offered a $100 credit to stay on, which I accepted.

More likely it's no bonus points for customers who don't contribute to their bottom line (which makes total sense). As you can see above, many people have gotten offers on business cards that are actually used.

When they give you points, does anyone know how long they usually take to post?

Mine posted in a couple of days, but the rep will tell you it could take several weeks.

My rep told me 24-48 hours. When that didn't happen, another rep told me 24-48 hours from the second request. Now that didn't happen either. Good thing I don't need them for a few months!
