Called the retention number after my my personal card AF hit. Roughly $60k spend. Offered and accepted 7k points. Have had card for 3 years.

$9k spend received only 1k and 500 more for $1K spend in 60 days HUCA made no difference

So, I called the retention number and was told there are no offers at this time - I will pay so that I can keep getting great Amex offers. And because I love the SPG card

I'm one day into my next statement, the one where my annual fee should appear - how far into the month can I expect to see it posted before I can call?

Offered 3000 to keep personal SPG card on first call. Spent around 15 grand on it in first fee-waived year.

I had tried a couple of times via chat, and got nothing. Even when I asked how I could go about closing the account

my first year with *wood amex, and spend around 25k so decide to check and see how much they offer.. 1k points.. i did hang up and do you think i should call again few days later to see if another rep will throw out different *points offer? i was hoping for 3k..

Offered $25 or 3K Starpoints. Took the points, was about a 2 min call.

called and was offered 7K points within 30 sec.
35K spend last year

$100 statement credit in a 2 minute call to keep the card. Business card, has been open 1 year with about $15K annual spend.

Now I am quiet jealous because I only got $50 statement credit with $30K+ spend on business card open 1 year. :confused:

They wouldn't waive the fee and offered no concessions. Pretty much immediately told me that if I cancel I'd have 60 days to use the card before it deactivates. Maybe I was too nice about it???

I told them I'm reviewing all my cards with annual fees to see if anything can be done about it, which is true. It is what I'm doing. I do need to cancel a couple of cards.

Spend is about $100k in 2014 so far on this SPG Amex.
