Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport [Master Thread]

This property just popped up on my search for Detroit hotels and it is new to me. Any info on it?

Pretty surprising there's a hotel opening in three days and no threads on it yet.

New to me and I'm there every four months. Gotta be cheaper than the Westin Airport.

I know, right? I searched hoping there would be something about it, maybe the property it was rebranded from or something. I was at the 4 Points Metro Airport recently and did notice a property down the street going through some sort of change, so I imagine it is this one but would be nice to have something to go on.

Looks like this used to be the Crowne Plaza.

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza at DTW and it was quite pleasant. Will check this one out in a couple of weeks. Surprised to see another SPG property opening up at DTW - felt like they had pretty good coverage already with the Westin and the 4 points.

The Sheraton signage is up on the hotel.

I stayed at the 4P last night and was completely confused when I saw a Sheraton not far away, especially as the Sheraton wasn't on the website when I made my booking just a week or two ago!

Decent stay

Had a quick stay here last night. The hotel is starting a two month long renovation (starting today) of the common areas so there is some construction signage, yellow tape etc to be found. The front desk is now located near the elevators and it is a bit of a trek from the side entrance (the front entrance is closed temporarily). The club lounge is also closed during the renovations but we were given bottles of water on asking. Stayed for one night - was assigned a room on the 9th floor (SPG floor). The room itself was fairly large and in good shape and the bed (and linens) quite comfortable. The TV is really dated, however (22 inch tube). Took a shuttle to the airport in the morning - shuttle runs every 15 min from 430 to 730 and every 30 min after that.

Decent stay overall and definitely better than the 4P next door.

i was on the 11th floor a couple nights ago, and agree with the comments about the room- looks freshly renovated, other than the old crt tv in the dresser thing. as for better than the 4pts... not so sure about that, because the walls are thin, thin, thin! could hear every word the guy in the next room over was saying, as he spoke in a (apparently) normal volume rebooking his meetings for the next day.

Any fresh reviews? This place looks decent for an airport Sheraton. How is the club lounge and where is it located? I would probably book a club room if I stay here. Thanks!

Located on the 11th floor (top floor).

Lounge newly renovated, open daily, reasonable breakfast and quite good hors d'ouevers that include cut fruit, veggies and a hot option. Cash bar for alcohol, complimentary soft drinks.

Sounds kind of nice, this might do.
Are club level rooms on that floor (11th) also?
