Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services

The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee

Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.

Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.

Platinums receive:

* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)

* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points

* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.

* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area

* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.

Resort fee:

* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.

Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:

Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.

Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:

* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay

Other tips

The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.

The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.

The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".

If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.

And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.

If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).

If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.

Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

I know the 2 breakfasts per stay has been mentioned previously, but I currently have an upcoming stay where I booked a wrap around suite and a basic city view room. Am I able to get 2 breakfasts for each room? Has anyone experiences something simliar?

Yes, they will give it to you per room. It's worked for me on several occasions.

Las Vegas Cosmopolitan Hotel

Is this in regards to the June 22nd change? I think the continental breakfast is for each day, but did say that it excluded "resorts" - but good at "Autograph edition" hotels.

The Cosmopolitan is a resort so no complementary breakfast for gold & platinums however, you can select 2 Wicked Spoon buffet as an arrival gift as a Platinum.

So all this research has my newbie head spinning. I'll be staying in September for my brother's huge bachelor party bash, and I'm a member of both Identity and Marriott, and I'll be paying with my Marriott CC. Do I have this correct:

Choose to apply points to Identity (which will get me almost gold status ), and then when I get home, send my folio to MR so they can add them? Or will it be automatic? Sorry if this has been done to death, but I've called, researched, etc and can't figure out which answer is correct. Thanks!

I think it's a messed up system and nobody knows exactly what will happen! I think you will probably get Elite night credit with MR, MR points by paying with your MR credit card and Identity points for money spent on property.

Trip Report - Still disorganized

We just spent 3 nights there and things are still pretty disorganized.

One clarification the platinum check-in room is to the RIGHT of the front desk next to the bar. We checked-in in the VIP room as I thought that was where we were allowed to go. The check-in person was very friendly and took care of us and showed us the plat room for next time. She didn't make me feel like an idiot which was nice.

Wicked Spoon just one day as has been discussed. Still good but $40 on Saturday. I think that's a lot of cash for a brunch without champagne. The booze is extra. Yikes!

Pools are too busy so it's a fight for chaise. In fact, one young, drunk, guy did threaten violence to us over a confusion about who had the rights to one chair. Yikes!

The hotel was extremely busy this weekend (Memorial Day) and was like one huge frat party at Spring Break. Reminds me of college. Being that college was 25 years ago for me I got tired of the drunk people everywhere. Just constant drunkards in the elevators, by the pool, in the cab line, etc... just everywhere. Just really busy all over.

Amazingly there were no mini-bar errors upon check out today! That's a first for me at that hotel.

I am not sure we will stay here again. I love the Marriott points, the free breakfast, etc... but not sure it's worth the hassles.

Weekends are usually bad, very busy with the young crowd you mention but during the week it's like a different hotel with a slightly different crowd and it is pleasant. My last stay was 8 nights so I got a good feel for the crowds.
I managed to avoid most of the drunks though, avoiding the casino floor during those times and I never had issues in the elevators.

Not sure how you got the wrong check in area as it has been mentioned on this thread a few times now - this thread is why I knew where it was.

It's taken a while to grow on me. First time I checked out after the first night. The second time I left after three nights. I only stayed that long because the nights were comped due to the issues on my first stay. The last time I stayed 8 nights and wanted to stay longer. All of this is based on a terrace suite room though and I wouldn't stay in a lesser room.

I am going back in a next month, and I have learned to stay at the Cosmo during the week. Now if I was 20 years younger, I would stay on the weekend, when it is a completely different hotel. I found a decent LNF rate of around $85 (plus $25 resort fee ), for a city room. I will miss having a balcony but the city rooms are nice also.

That's a pretty good rate. Could you PM me the dates and where you found the rate if you don't mind.

LOL. Last minute I told my wife I wasn't packing any going out clothes (which she was happy to hear I think) so we didn't go to any nice clubs. Went to Joe's Seafood and Stone crab one night in shorts and a golf shirt but they didn't kick us out of course. However, should have gone to the day club at Marquee. Was literally the biggest "spring break" frat crowd ever waiting in line to go in there yesterday about noon. It was really funny. Gals in high heels, bathing suit, and swim cover up. I believe it was mandatory for all the gals to wear that exact outfit to get in. Quite a sight... and I mean a funny sight mostly.

We did manage to go dancing at Cleopatra's at Caesars one night. Stayed out 'til 2 which is REALLY late for me.

Going back next year for our cousin's 21st birthday so will be clubbing on that trip I promise!

Overall good trip. I was just a little disappointed by the Cosmo.

Glad you had a good trip despite not being 100% happy with the Cosmo.
