Bit it and got instantly approved.. $120 is worth the 21K, plus the 1k you get for spending $1000, and the 10K my +1 will get for referring me... total 32K points minimum with the spending requirement, $120 is well worth 32K SPG points!!!!

Does anyone "know" whether AMEX Canada will bring back the FYF promo for the SPG card? (Any rumor of such ... )

Made the mistake of getting me and mom applying for SPG at the same time. Now I don't want to cancel because then I don't get SPG for 6 months. Got a retention offer though, 8k or $100 (obvious choice). Cancel after 3 months, pro-rata refund, then wait for the next fyf hopefully in nov.

Yeah, you'd never think that having another 5 cards floating around on rotation would be difficult to maintain, but it is!!!

I applied for the card and got the 21,000 bonus points in the first month.
Today I opened my mail and find a new SPG membership kit with a new account.
I put my existing account number in the application!

Yep, same thing happened to me last time. Just a quick call to SPG will correct the problem. The CSR was puzzled by it as well.

I simply emailed SPG and they simply transfer the points to the one SPG account which I want to keep. It was quite fast ...^
