I thought Pickles presentation was excellent, and was glad to have attended.

As far as Citi AA cards, i can confirm that coins ordered on the visa/mc versions of the cards within the past week have counted as purchases and not cash advances.

I cannot verify the Citi AA Amex though.

Good luck.

It's got to be 1000 to 1.

I've seen presentation on how much carbon emissions was saved when Apple reduced packaging, which include gasoline for transportation. I don't know why they come in the tiny boxes and not in the $1k boxes I've seen on ebay; but you are totally correct in the overall picture the carbon footprint or what not is probably large... Though if the coins make it into circulation it would cut down on the paper dollar bills used ^

You purchased a "Discover teen card" using your Citi Amex AA card and were charged a cash advance fee?
What does that have to do with using the same card for purchasing coins from the mint?

I charged 50 and was assessed a 5 CA fee (3% or 5 whichever is greater). The Teen card will be officially discontinued on 11/1. Here is the FW thread on it: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/902121/

It demonstrates that Citi can charge a CA fee on anything they consider a cash equivalent. That is why you need to be discrete about certain strategies.

Now that other users have verified that we're still in the clear, can you guys edit your posts to remove the names?

The only thing that is verified is that **** is classifying more cash equivalents as CA’s.

Agreed. The day that coins are lumped into that category, feel free to announce it all over FT.

But until then, let's keep things on the d/l ok?
