All you need to know is that Presidents continue to be liberated.

Suggest all leave off any specifics on shipments that work as intended, but give details on anything that fails to work as intended.

even if you don't 'get miles' for these purchases .... would they still count towards spending your say, 30K a year, for a companion ticket?

I received a package of $1,000 in coins today (they split my order up and shipped what was available as far as I can tell). My original order date was November 6th. The charge on my Citi statement posted overnight and looks just like the others, classified as a purchase.

I received my final order today

Looks like the mint wised up at some point and changed the packaging...

The interesting part is that the barcode on these boxes is 11/30/09 so they were packaged AFTER the mint announcement.

Ordered 5 boxes (one each president) in early November.

One box received mid-November, in carton with plastic trays. Credit card closed this week, received miles.

Two boxes received today, in smaller barcoded cartons without plastic trays. Credit card charge still "pending".

Couldn't see the picture. But how is that wising up (other than perhaps saving some money on packaging)?

If it works the way HH Amex works, the answer is no. I purchased Amex TCs after the cutoff of awarding points for purchase in hopes that the purchase amount would still count towards my annual spend for VIP level. The purchase was still a purchase transaction but did not count towards annual spend for VIP level.
