Interesting. I have seen multiple DPs about getting clapped by Jeffrey for useing Amazon GCs for BG. Thankfully my account is still open but I'm doing small fry amounts and velocity (<10k total so far). What's your amounts and velocity if you don't mind sharing?

Depends on the deal but sometimes $500+ per order.

That Amazon GC thing is not true. I've shipped orders paid for with a gift card to a BG with no problem for years. I'm using PointsMaker and right now they have a deal for iPad where you lose $7 with each order but if you need to liquidate ASAP that's one option. Or wait for a break-even deal.
Plenty of people have lost thousands of dollars when Amazon shut down their account and confiscated their gift card balance. Having said that, some have gone to a small claims court and won. |
OK, I was just reporting my experience.

POINTSMAKER stiffed me by taking my money and items received first week of December 2024 and not posting as received until end of December to intentionally stall payouts. I requested money the end of the 3rd week of December 2024 when he posted items as received an he has not paid me out now nearly a month later. He owes me thousands of dollars. Hopefully he won't run flee the country without paying.

BuyingGroupPro.com
If any of you are ramping up spend with this method I'd highly recommend BuyingGroupPro.com. It makes the whole process a lot easier.

All just brainstorming. Yeah, sales tax would be an extra drain on the idea.

You can always send to tax exepmt locations, most groups have locations in DE or NJ where there's no sales tax. You can also receive a re-seller certification from your state and send to FL for example, that way you'll get the sales tax exemption.

in the last 3 months, PM has taken between 15-22 days to pay out for me. It’s been slower recently probably due to holidays, but basically don’t expect to get paid for a month at most around holidays.

I would recommend using UEarnPoints since on that regard the group pays on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week so if your items were scanned let's say on Monday and a receipt was sent to you, the groups will pay you on Wednsday. Full disclosure, I manage the group so it might seem like self promotion, but we do have an excellent reputation online when it comes to different groups out there. Another big plus is that we're the only onces who do direct manufacturer deals (i.e. Lenovo, Dell, HP etc.) and that way you can really ramp up your cashback game, for example during the Prime Day Rakuten had 16% cashback on Lenovo computers, we also never did and will never do below deals since we want our buyers to enjoy their full savings, it's a Win-Win for everyone and the reason we're organically growing all the time :) So feel free to try us out or reach out if you have any questions.

That's great and all, but what you don't mention is that you bake in offers into your prices. You say you don't offer below cost deals, but are currently offering $225 on a $249.99 Dell deal that requires you to have a 10% off coupon. You don't "want your buyers to enjoy their full savings" nor are you the only group who does direct manufacturer deals.
Some items are lucrative enought for us to maintain the original price even though there's a discount, I will give you two examples: 1. Let's say there's an item costing $200 and it has a discount coupon of 10%, in addition we know as a business that we can keep a healthy margin with the $200 cost, we would still pay $200 even thought technically we know buyers get it at $180 and we have plenty of deals like that, we don't mind letting the buyers enjoy savings as long as we also enjoy healthy margins. 2. Let's say on the other hand there's the same item at a cost of $200, it has the same coupon of 10%, but I know that at $200 we as a business won't be able to make good margin on it, so we would ask of you to use the 10% discount and we would pay the $180 price. We still offer the buyers full price, not a cent below, but with the coupon utilized since the alternative is us not buying the item at all and the buyers not getting any benefit from it. Please understand that we are a business and it's our purpose to buy as low as possible without hurting our buyers, I truly understand you about the 10% discount, but for the buyers as well it's better to make a profit on a $180 vs. not making any profit at all. |
