Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

My gf had a Citi business card shut down recently -- I think because of Simon purchases, but haven't received the real reason yet. For me, I'm doing Barclays and BofA only at Simon right now.

Can you recap why AA was so attractive? My AA Biz card has been the dog in my portfolio and I'm thinking of cutting it.... AA cards get you the status or points?

My feeling is that Simon is just too obvious. Pretty much all CC banks know it is GC business. It would be fine if you do like $2k to $3k each month. But not if you cycle CL.

Doing it on a business CC is even worse, if that makes any difference.

I will assume you are talking about getting the cards Online, rather then at a mall in person. Especially if the description has it that it was an Online purchase or by its code the Issuer will know that.

At the same token Im sure many legit businesses that have carts or whatever at a mall may pay their rent etc via a CC or rent space so using a Biz CC shopuldnt be a problem unless you are charging the same amount numerous days every week when it wouldnt make sense, but once a week will probably slip on by

It is attractive because the AA Executive MC gives you AC admission for the discounted price of $450 (the AF) (versus at a minimum of $550 or more) if you are buying AC admission by itself.
Furthermore, while a person who buys AC admission will pay for additional family members to be added on to your membership (pushing the potential cost to almost $1000/year), using the AA card allows you to add AUs for no additional cost which means your AA card will get you and your AUs into ACs for $450.

For those of us who value club admission, this is a huge value that the AA Executive card supplies.

Of course, in addition, you get AA miles which is meh. However, until 12/31, each mile counts for your MM status, which for me is double meh.

Got it. TY.

I don't do AA AC. This is why I do not really use my AA biz card. So I did not really miss anything.

Yes, it would be safer at the mall than online. I always do not want to attract attention with high purchase amount, unless I get a CC that I don't mind getting shut down. Like US Bank card or Cap1 CCs.

Then the GC cashing. Most of the places won't allow loading more than $500. So I guess it will be MO or BP. Then $1k makes it easier.

online allows you to print names, than can be extremely advantageous in some area.

This is a dumb an stupid question, since I believe I've seen it multiple times.

Amex will not give any points for any spending (delta specifically for meeting gates), irregardless of whether you purchase online or at a mall, correct? Or any other of their off brand cards..correct?

its not a stupid question. its legit. but its a n00b question. a question that has been answered since last year.

no clue what you mean by "meeting gates". you talking MQDs? or you mean MSR for SUB? youre using auto-correct or what? anyway, dont use simon for amex and dont meet MSR with MS, although people still do it with success. no idea why they enjoy that much risk.

I am surprised that Simon didn't send out a promo code for Labor Day weekend for free shipping + 20% off fees. I have been waiting for Simon to provide another promo code before buying more cards.

This isn't off-topic, although it might look like that. I wish people here would stop pretending to know what cannot be known. Example: the notion that AmEx is the only card issuer that doesn't give rewards for Simon purchases. Other card issuers don't also, like Alliant. Example: buying $2k to $3k per month " is fine" but cycling your CL is not.. Example: buying at the mall "is safer" than buying online for MS purposes.

I'm not saying these comments are evil or lies--they're genuine attempts to help. But we don't know what we don't know. Everything is safe until our cards are closed--and then we try to figure out why that happened, never really knowing. Example: I've had a card where I did 10 times the CL each cycle for years without problems. Then I stopped using it for MS because I had a better card to use. 15 months after I last used it for MS, it was closed for "not being used as expected." Go figure. Why was it closed then? I can guess lots of reasons. A computer screening, someone at the bank looked at the activity randomly, whatever. But I don't KNOW the reason and I will never KNOW the reason.

Check the information here for yourself with small purchases before you go whole hog looking for MS profits. Make sure your idea works FOR YOU, TODAY. Be careful. It's the Internet. It's a flowing stream of information that is constantly changing, some false, some true for a period but no longer. Be careful.
