Has anyone else had problems using Simon GCs with $479 (+$1 fee) MO's at Kroger/Fred Meyer? I've been on that track for a few weeks with success in getting one and then waiting 10 minutes and getting another. Got one yesterday and then came back and got "Not Authorized for second after waiting and using a second card. Today, got "Not Authorized" on the first try. Tried a second card and got the same thing. Have they lowered the max amount?

I haven't been able to get $1000 simon cards to work at fry's/safeway/albertsons for any amount in a long time, like a year or longer. In AZ. Was only working at bashas, but now that has changed too. I've been using vanilla and meta bought from grocery stores mostly for a while now. Still work for $500 MOs at almost all local grocery stores. Just about done with this. It's progressively gotten worse. Not worth the time for most things. Even a 4% verizon card isn't really worth the time and hassle anymore. Probably just going stick with just enough simon cards to keep flight/hotel tier status. I was ok with 1500- 2k in MOs per store trip, but now simon is down to 470 something and only one swipe per 5 or 10min.....nope.

I also drain those at Kroger and they work like magic, draining immediately after pressing "No Cash back" at the Kroger POS.
Now, the $1,000 Simon Mall VGC I bought, I drained them flawlessly to pay my taxes to the IRS.
So for me, BAU with Simon Mall VGCs

However, according to this form, one can only make 2 () payments a year to a 1040 tax bill using a debit or credit card.
So, unless someone has a work around this limit, $2000 is the most you can pay to your 1040 taxes using a SMGC, and actually anything over that is going to have to paid using a check or its equivalent.
I pay my taxes with a credit card, but I have to pay quarterly so my limit is 2 payments/quarter (1040ES) and 2 for the regular April payment (1040).

There are only three accredited processors, so even presuming that the IRS will take two payments from each, which I may doubt since the receipent of the payments is the IRS and their rule is only 2 payments (not payments per processor) are allowed for a 1040 form, then the maximum payment for your taxes is $6000.
Have you successfully done more than 2 payments using more than one processor?? If you have, that would be a useful DP for all. TIA

2 Payments per processor. Discussed in this thread Paying USA income, property or other taxes with a credit card - Page 50 - FlyerTalk Forums
Unfortunately for me, this will still not meet my needs. But for most, sounds like it will.
Rereading that thread, appears that one of the three processors is dicey in customer support..

Like they said, 2X per processor. My Tax bill for this year (only pay once a year) is a little less than $5k, so not a Problem there. Off to next year

Question about the first bulk purchase
I just got approved to do bulk consumer orders and need to go buy in person first and the email says my first order is fee free in person
- do they give you the $1000 GC right away? I wanted to pay my quarterly taxes with these so the 18th is the last day- will they allow me to buy any $500 GC in person?
- I'm scanning through the thread trying to look at different ways of liquidating and from what I gather...there's rather limited options right now?
WM $99 at a time money order is inconvenient
Kroger MO <$475 may or may not work Possibly
Is it possible to do FD load to bluebird?
It's just confusing with 200+ pages of comments which methods still work

You can buy $500 VGCs located on the kiosk as well. You want to look on the back of the card and look for issued by Sutton Bank and distributed and serviced by InComm. They will liquidate for MOs at WM and Kroger for the full $500. I do not know the answer to your last question.

SM has the $1K VGCs available (behind the counter in the Management Office) for purchase right away.

I did this recently as I needed approval too and got the 2 $1000 visa cards and was able to fully use it for tax. The machine didn't read my card properly the first time but I don't think it's common and I brought backup cards when I went back. My cards are issued by metabank and distributed by blackhawk and didn't get to see it until it was fully paid for and handed to me. I had a lot of trouble getting there as I didn't know they took the kiosk away and the management office were somewhat hidden, it would be good to call the office ahead of time to get an idea of hours and location.
