Did anybody have issue purchase visa gift card at CVS today or yesterday? Checkout terminal says cards can not be purchased due to system issue. Not sure it is store specific or systematic network issue.

Newbie to CVS here. I wen to a CVS and the casher told me that he can not split the payment with two cards, since there is no way for him to enter an amount. Any suggestion on this? On the first page there is some discussion on credit mode and debit mode. Any idea how this really works? Thanks.

Yes. I think so and that is why I ask here. Do you know the way?

If the cashier does not know you are stuck. You could escalate and call for a manager, but he might decide what you are doing is sketchy and ban you completely
Splitting payment when buying variable gift cards is not a normal practice. There are far more places (not just CVS) that ban it than allow it.

In any case CVS limit you to 2k per day per ID, so for most people its not worth splitting. Worst case, make 2 visits and get 1k each time

Yes, there is a button on the screen for "Partial Credit" or something like that.

It all depends on the store. Some CVS' allow it and some don't. However, I'm pretty sure the CVS system would allow it at all stores.

Anyone able to but $2k worth of VGCs today? P2 and I both went to a nearby CVS to buy our normal $2k each. Transaction rang up $2k for both of us...then only two cards activated and the system required a refund back to the card for the remaining $1k+.

Perhaps a store limit, as well as a per person limit per day at that store??

How often do these activation issues happen? Most stores I go to say they have to ring up each VGC separately but I'm usually able to talk them into doing it altogether. Always activates fine.

NP on the 13th, or the days before the 13th, or the days after.

Just had a little glitch yesterday because I was 5 minutes before by 24 hours. Just waited 5 minutes and transaction went through fine.

Has anyone seemed like ID has been blocked?

Bought $2k/day across 4 cards/day on sat, sun, mon, all respecting 24-hr limit. But tues (after 24-hrs) got denied after scanning ID, same for weds. Pretty sure it’s not the card, has to be the ID, but I’ve made sure to try after 24-hrs. Anyone else experience similar?
