Does not work anymore, is dead..... what is the point to report 'not working'?

As of 08/25/2014, Bancorp cards (Vanilla Visa, OneVanilla, etc.) are rarely working first try for debit transactions at Walmart. There is no apparent geographical basis. Basically, it's a crapshoot.

Do not agitate a cashier or store and lose the ability to make these transactions in the future. Multiple failed swipes or transactions will likely increase scrutiny. You do not want that. It is best to stop using these cards.

Vanilla VISA defaulting to credit
As of 5/29/2014, at most Walmart locations, all Vanilla VISA cards issued by The Bancorp Bank are automatically recognized as credit. Most Mastercard have required a workaround for some time. The MoneyCenter Express (ATM, kiosk, Kate) is not affected by this change.

Makes perfect sense

Echo everyone's verifications on the Vanilla cards. Just dumped $4500 mix of VVGCs and OVs without any issues at all ("change payment" override required)... well, except that Kate wasn't working so I had to get to cashiers for all of it.

I bet someone at CVS has to be wondering "Why on Earth are our OV sales spiking all of a sudden?"

I just deleted several off-topic posts. This is not the place to discuss bloggers, newbies, ways of killing deals, or any general MS issues not related to using OVs at WM. Thank you.

The MC was closed when I got to WM, so I did just $1K at the CS counter -- I hate making them walk all the way to the MC to get the MOs. Both cards worked fine.

I heard while I was there that the MC clerk was only on break, so I bought a few groceries and waited until she came back. It was Sandra, but this time all the cards worked. I did 2 separate $1K purchases in case there were errors, but it all went smoothly. I may try a $2K purchase next time.

Where do you load at SC? Do they have a Kate? or do you just go to customer service?

I don't know if he meant the SC that you're thinking of. But I do know that charges from my SC post as WM. I always wondered if I could load there.

SC or CS? Sam's Club or customer service at WM?

I read SC as service center, and CS as customer service. Essentially the same thing

SC = customer service counter. PaulMSN went to the service counter because the money center at that SuperWalmart was unstaffed at that time.
