I only have 1 Kroger/Ralphs account, linked to an old land phone line. If I create a new Kroger online account, it still asks me to link it to an Kroger account number. Can I just type in the same Kroger account number as my other account?

Went to Kroger and all variable VGC were gone.

Are you guys concerned at all about the US Bank VGCs fraud going on.

After reading today's posts in that thread I got seriously concerned.

No.

Sounds more like a small batch of fraud, or an April fools prank that has extended beyond the standard April 1st mark.

This is quite common around here - usually out of stock. MCGC are readily available. Gotta be lucky to get my hands on VGC - or quick enough @ WMT to hit the little yellow button when using the MCGC ;-)

I bought one of each, MC and Visa, over the weekend at Kay-Roger's while visiting family out of town for Easter. Both times they sold it to me at the checkout, not customer service.

Gotta love those $1000 MOs for $.59 too!

This is no longer allowed at my preferred Kroger. Must be under $2000 per 24 hours and sold at CS. PIMA! Changed over the weekend.

Are Yall just buying these variable gc at Kroger for the MS? I'm trying to figure out how tall are profiting buying the 100 demotions? It's 5 bucks per hundred dollars - if doing it for fuel points you are spending 25 dollars to get to 1000 points for a dollar off which is still limited to 35 gallons - so really saving max 10 bucks.
Now even with the coupon that's currently around you still are spending 12.50 roughly to get the 1000 points.

If you used all the 35 gallons fill up is it really worth the 22 dollars saved? Is that the goal?

(Now on 4x points times it makes sense and I get that one)

This, all I buy are $500 VGC. The fee is easily compensated for.

Nobody profits from $100 cards except the issuers. Ever wondered why these are the only ones left on the peg? You profit from the $500 ones, especially since groceries are an easy category to get top tier bonuses from credit cards.

4x is/was going on...so...I wouldn't say nobody but issuers. other times, yes though.

K is becoming cash only for variable V/MC/AMEX around here and dying :(

Ok - that makes sense then. I was a little confused bc I typically use target/rb for stuff to avoid the fees - but we recently moved to a town with Kroger and I saw posts about people maximizing and profiting with the Kroger fuel points and I was trying to figure out how/if that is ever possible/profitable outside of the 4x points times since variable amount cards are excluded from getting fuel points right? Guess there was a blur between the conversation about fuel points and simply using Kroger as a MS source.
Ps: sorry for awful spelling in my original post. Was literally walking through Kroger typing it on my phone lol.

If infact it wasn't activated correctly, they will be able to resend the activation signal and activate it for you instantaneously over the phone. If instead there was an attempted use on the card before you purchased it (VERY common), they will be unable to activate it for you, but they will give you a case number and tell you to go into the store and at the store they will be able to give you a new giftcard. Just did this the other day for two cards and within an hour everything was fixed.

Wow. What a saga. Short version - don't bother faxing in the info. Just call the number on the gift card activation receipt.

I faxed all of the documents in on the 16th. They told me 7-10 days. I called a couple of times to try to see if they had received my documents but no one would give me an answer.

Called back on the 30th, after a full 10 business days. Was told they would "escalate" the call, and that I should receive a call back in 48 hours. No call back ever received.

Called back AGAIN on the 6th. Again told I would receive a call back in 48hrs. Again, no call back received.

Called to follow up on the 10th and said that there were no notes on the account (apparently "escalation" sometimes chooses to leave notes rather than call back) indicating that my fax had never been received. I have the confirmation - so I know that isn't true. They probably just lost or deleted it by mistake or something.

Called the Ralph's store - they had no idea what I was talking about.

Found the number on the activation slip and the woman was TREMENDOUSLY helpful. She looked up the cards, verified my payment method, called Visa to confirm that it was OK to activate the card, asked me to send her a copy of my receipt and the front and back of the cards. After review, while neither card had activated properly, one had also been tampered with before purchase. She activated the one card that had not been tampered with, and set me up with all the info needed to get a replacement card for the one that had been tampered with. In the end, the phone call took about 45 minutes. I have 1 card activated and can run to the store to replace the other one.

Thanks for the suggestion to call! Much easier!

Tried to use $5 digital coupon on one $500 VGC and did not get $5 off in ATL area.

Some time ago while buying 2 $500 VGCs I did get $5 off.
