Walked out with my MO and trashed my VGC.
I have developed a habit NOT to trash anything until the MO goes through and cleared at my bank.

Thanks for the info. I've reduced my Ice Cream consumption, but they do have great Ice Cream. It's always good to search for the deals. Even if you have a gift card or OYNO coupon, it's still money out of your pocket you could use for something else!

I guess sometimes ice cream is just ice cream ...

Got lucky with all 6x$500 over the last week, all coupons printed fine.

MO's dead in my part the world (north TX)

I will post this in a few of the Kroger centric forums as a cautionary tale.

I think MO's With GC's are officially dead at Krogers in my area. I've tried all of the stores in my town over the last few days, and as soon as I say an amount, they ask if I am going to split and if the payment debit card has my name on it. One of the cashiers was nice enough to show me the email that was sent out essentially telling them to deny any MO transaction they see fit. It describes one MSer specifically. Apparently some d-bag was going around doing $3k per visit to multiple Krogers in the area every day. When given resistance, he apparently debates the cashier citing some "laws." Another example of one fool ruining it for everyone! I was doing >$15k/month via Kroger MO's but never more than one MO at a time. None of the cashiers ever batted an eye at my requests.

Now there may be workarounds (like MO's for "random" amounts under $500 with no splits), but that makes the game much harder and less profitable.

C'mon bro, we all know its the noobs that kill deals and heavy hitters never ruin anything.

Does Kate's smell like roses ?

Just bought 2k in my friendly north dallas store without problem... It is the district ban at most. Definitely not company wide.

Perhaps...but keep on advertising to the general public exactly which places still work for you, and those last few places will kick the bucket, as well. I knew the writing was on the wall for Kr0ger when WM stopped accepting OV and more people starting posting about Kr0ger as an alternative. I used to not have any problems at my local Kr0gers, and the clerks knew me as a repeat customer. Then they started telling me about other people visiting the store making huge purchases in MO or VGC. Then the managers started changing the policies to make MS more difficult. The FT effect.

The one time I found one that was working I had essentially the same experience. Got one MO out of it. Said oh great lets try that again, second one failed but I was charged for it. Had to go to customer service desk who then after some talking with the manager cut a new MO for me there. Luckily that time I was using my TDGo card with my name on it because they asked to look at the card. If it was a gift card it might have gone worse. Never found another working MO Kate again.

I thought this was a Kroger thread.
As far as I know...there are no Kates at Kroger.
Why are you discussing them here and not in one of the WM threads??

This week's Frys ad shows 4x on gift cards now through September 2. Typical restrictions apply - which at my store means fixed value VGC and MCGC will count. I'm good for August fuel, but time to get enough to get me through September.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up. Confirmed in my local Kroger's ad. Like you I'm good for August fuel, so I'll be planning to get Sep/Oct fuel needs met by holding off until September 1-2.

I'm DFW based. The highest denomination of fixed value cards that I've seen around my neck of the woods is $100. My friend who lived in Utah swore he had $200 fixed value cards at Smith's. Have others seen $200 fixed value cards floating around or is he mistaken?

I have visited many Krogers in the Houston area and some north of Houston and I have not come across any $200s unless they have popped up in the couple of weeks. I was in Utah on vacation and never made it into a Smith's :/

If you're purchasing at least 14 gallons of gas, you end up with a wash considering the 4x fuel points on the $100 card. $105.95x5 = $529.75 earns 2119 fuel points or $1/gal for two fill ups.

If you use a 5% CB, the CB is lagniappe.
