Mine required a form for each and every purchase. Even the original $500 one I bought to test the waters.

I applied for the volume purchase account, and I got declined. Simon Mall refuses to tell me why. Is anyone in the same boat? I don't want to purchase from the consumer side because the fees are higher.

You have to have a business with an EIN to get the volume account.

The mall in Fort Worth?

I went to the Mall in Fort Worth to buy gift cards but could not figure out where to go. The office
was at the back of a hair salon but nobody knew anything about gift cards. Any further hints would be appreciated.

The first couple of times that I bought GC at SM it went through fine, but now the last couple of times have been a real hassle. I did $2k and the manager was close to not selling them to me, but I talked her into it as a one time exception. My wife went yesterday to buy $1.5k and the guy had to call his manager, couldn't get her on the phone, tried again, and eventually just gave in and did the sale.

I'm going to try one more time with $1k, if I get hassled again, I'm just going to stop. Not worth the hassle to save $2 IMO.

What's the name of the mall? Couldn't find a simon mall in Fort Worth area on their website.

By the way, if you look on Simon's website, you can see which mall sells gift cards if you look at the mall map. It'll even show you where the gift cards are sold in the mall.

But doesn't tell you if they sell Visa.

True, but you could just take 2 minutes and give them a call. Can't expect the interwebz to do all the work for you.

I think it depends on the location. I buy from mine all the time and they require the form for over 3k but it really just depends.

I asked about it once (the one time I bought over $3k). Clerk told me the policy was (this could be mall-specific, though) that at $3k they're required to do it, but between $2k and $3k they "have discretion".

It wasn't well known at the time, but you could buy VR at Speedway with CC and earn Speedy Rewards (2% back basically). I know I tested once right after with cash to see if Speedy Rewards were still being earned and they were. I haven't tried since early November but maybe it still works.

I tried this last week and seems the register is hard coded not to accept credit cards. I swiped my credit card trying to purchase a VR and the register kept prompting for another payment type. I tried swiping it on the customer keypad as well as asking the cashier to swipe on his end-- neither worked. No pending charge either on the credit card. Going to try using a Speedway gift card next time to purchase VR. I know Speedway gift cards can be bought with credit card.

Re: what's the name of the mall? The Mall in Fort Worth mentioned earlier in this thread. I could not find the gift card area. Found an office in a hair salon that was supposedly one person in administration and no one knew about gift cards. Here is the link...not a Simon Mall.

Does anyone have problems purchasing at Simon with Amex GC's? The lady working at my local mall said they don't accept prepaid cards.

In what situation would you want to buy an amex GC with a prepaid card? Just to pay more fees and then use the amex GC to buy more GCs??:confused:
