Can I reload my cad with VGC at Dollar Stores?
|
I've found a store near me that appears to be ok with repeated loads of $496.05 onto my Netspend card ($3.95 fee). Does anyone know what the load limits are (just using regular variable load VGCs)? I tried looking through the FAQs on the website, but couldn't find this question answered. Also, I tried calling Netspend customer service but the guy could barely speak English.
My MO route may die, so looking for an alternative to at least do some spend... |
Anyone ever try a Netspend load of more than $500 using multiple debit cards? Just curious if its even possible and if it is possible is the fee assessed for each devit card or just 1 time for the entire transaction.

Is anybody using this just for the high interest savings account feature? I have no desire to MS with this card but would be interested in using it as a saving account.
|
I do, and many on FW Finance and Doctor of Credit do. I have never loaded a Netspend with a reload card as the supermarkets in my area were always cash only even in the golden days of MS.

Thanks calwatch and reubenfairbird. I had a netspend card a few years ago and never used it. The local to Texas grocery chain offers a fee free load version of the netspend card and say you can use debit to load.

Anyone have a datapoint on whether one can load more than $500 on Netspend at a time? IE. 3 $500 VGCs - 3.95 fee = 1496.05 load

I was only using NetSpend for the high interest savings, but with the change to only paying 5% for balances under $1000 it is not as valuable.
Effective July 1, 2016 (the “Effective Date”), we are making the following changes to your Savings Account associated with your NetSpend® Visa® Prepaid Card Account: 1. We are changing the minimum Average Daily Balance requirements to receive the interest rates applicable to your Savings Account to the following: • For an Average Daily Balance of $1,000.00 or less, the interest rate paid on the entire balance will be 4.91% with an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 5.00%. • For an Average Daily Balance that is more than $1,000.00, the interest rate paid on the portion of the Average Daily Balance which exceeds $1,000.00 will be 0.49% with an APY of 0.50%, and the interest paid on the portion of the Average Daily Balance which is $1,000.00 or less will be 4.91%. The APY for this tier will range from 5.00% to 0.54%, depending on the balance in the Savings Account. |

Question about the Netspend cards. Can you send money to yourself from card a to card b? I just opened a second card and it wouldn't let me. I don't know if that is because the second card has to be open a minimum time or if it doesn't allow same person to same person transfer.
Thanks, |
