Are you sure? Never seen these.

Last 2 weeks they ran 4 or 3x gas points on gift cards no activations. I believe it ends 12/4. The S&S had paypal cards but I just got shell ones instead earning gas points and CB from CC.

This was a S&S in Mass

Gotcha

I'm in MA too. I'll have to stop by today. Are you talking about the PP MyCash cards? If so, I didn't know S&S carries them.

I was at the Mansfield S&S...If I remember correctly they were plain with just a paypal logo and nothing else.

Has anyone been able to use the PPBDMC to purchase a money order of more than $400 from the US Post Office within the last week?

Purchased $1000 money order at USPS today without a problem.

Definitely targeted. It just showed up in one of my family's PP accounts. I'm not even sure I got an email explaining anything. Odd, but I'm not complaining!

Credit to the account. Seems like I didn't have to do anything at all to activate it. It was just there.

I thought I was out of this game. But a friendly CVS has been able to sell me a US$500 PPMC card at a time for two days now. I will do slow, responsible spending! Philadelphia area. Nothing too crazy.

Pretty sure all CVS sell PPMC cards with credit. Refer to the CVS thread.

I read through the thread and could not find an example of someone with 200 transactions who exceeded the $20k threshold due to MyCash deposits. Was anyone in that situation and did you receive a 1099?

Also, I saw these 2 posts from earlier in the year:
The post from CapitalAllowance is a little reassuring. However I checked my Annual Financial Summary that ttlmmky mentioned and the MyCash deposits are NOT under "Transfers to PayPal Account." They appear in "Payments received" which is a sub-category of "Sales Activity." That seems like a bad sign.

If you read a couple posts past my own you'll see another person responding that it was counted as payments received, and it was for me as well - I just didn't realize it. I have since chatted with PayPal over Facebook about this and they assure me that it won't be counted into the 20k/200 threshold. What will happen in reality is a different matter, however. I'm risking it.

Other things counting towards that threshold include personal payments from friends and family. I'm willing to bet that PayPal isn't dumb enough to lump everything together and call it online sales. I have yet to hear from somebody who went over the threshold using MyCash cards only and got the 1099-K

I was told cash only by a cvs cashier today... drove 5 minutes down the street to another and was able to pay with cc for them. Might be store/cashier specific.

Has anyone been shutdown after the warning email? Also, has anyone been shutdown for only doing Serve online loads?

For those who purchase cards from Walgreens, do they usually stock up or do I need to tell them ?

Other than PPMC, are there other cards that go through as credit , I tried Vanilla reload but according to the cashier the POS says cash.

Thank you

One of the WAG I used to go to didn't have them in several weeks. Yesterday I popped my head in there and to my surprise they had them again. Funny thing is they had the old cards again, the plastic ones, contrary to the newer cardboard cards... Another WAG on my route ran out a few weeks ago, too. Gotta go back there next weekend or so to check.

Even the PPMC are YMMV depending on the store. Out of the dozen or so stores I tried in the area only 3 accept CC at all. Dunno about the OV since I don't touch that stuf.

I got the dreaded email today too, after a few months of just making online Serve loads. So...has anyone actually been shut down for that? What if I loaded and then transferred the funds to other friends/family accounts the way we did it back in the Amazon Payments days, and then did Serve loads from those accounts after the transfer? Just wondering how to get around this...

Do what PP wants you to do and spend the money on retail purchases @ WMT, TGT and regular spend...
