Seriously though I do believe there have been references to PP's this year on MM and FM and a few others just maybe not the title of article. I think your point is right though that WF caught on and made a business decision,.. Perhaps Just a little Quicker with the help of blog publicity.

Too bad really since with 3 cards each and 12k per month that was a First Class Ticket to the other side of the World for everyone in the family with cards. And at only $1 for their ATM's for $500 quite a feather in the cap to lose.

Agreed, funding with cards with Chase and $1 ATM past the first 2 was great. If you wanted the BA Companion pass, UA miles (Club card or 10K bonus for $25K spend on Explorer Card), Hyatt elite credits, or Marriott elite credits, this was a great play for $4500/month/card.

I don't think this one can be chalked up to the blogs, as it wasn't really highlighted. I don't think that is a coincidence considering there is no referral bonus, but it was pimped to meet spend bonus for cards with referral bonus. I just think this was a very tight loop (all at WF as they see the entire process except the CC part whereas CVS or OD only saw the purchase and VR a part and BB a part). With the entire process comes knowledge of how it comes, how much it costs (in CC surcharge), how long it stays and where it goes. Easier to do the accounting and my guess it didn't work for them.

Now, on the other hand, I very much appreciated this thread, and the couple other ones like it where the plebeians can be hinted at how to fish without needing to be in the skulls pm circle or some secret forum or wherever people share stuff like AMT taking GCs early last year.

I think WF knew what to expect from their program, they had complicated load limits in place to discourage funding of 4500 (max) monthly even though the limit shows 5000 (I think we [FTs] were able to develop a system of 2000 + 2500 every 16th day). Any one has success loading 5000 per month? They also tried to block, freeze and shut down accounts randomly to limit and discourage. I think they decided to be greedy which will kill the program. I would not be surprised if they go back in 3/6 months and reinstate to be viable...

So... reloads are frozen already?

I went to go use my WF Prepaid today and it was declined. I checked my account and it shows

03/08/2013 Wells Fargo Consumer Web
150 S 5th St Minneapolis MN 55402 Adjustment Debit -$1,829.62 $0.00 $0.00

Looks like I will be waiting on a check. I have loaded the max every 16th day for only a few months. Small regular spend plus WM purchases. My account does not appear to be locked though. I am going to try to reload again when it's time.

We all know that there will be another loophole in another system in a matter of time... let's just hope that it stays around longer than the next 3 or 4 months. I've been very happy with my WF abilities lately and it's a shame to see it come to an end.

I think they'll be reversing the charge on your credit card rather than issuing a check. Happened to me. No points for you!

Did you have the full amount of your CC load refunded? Would seem odd if I loaded $2500 and I had only $500 on the card when they closed it ... can they refund just $500?

Loaded $2,500 over a week ago and then had $1,500 and change (the remaining balance) refunded to my credit card.

Interesting, I'll have to keep an eye out on my CC account ... though that means 500+ fewer points for me

Good to know it took less than a week though.

This was very nice while it lasted. I was able to load another $2400 today. We will see what happens with it.

I am planning to load another $2,000 on 16th (loaded 2.5 K when ordered the card on 2/28). Successfully used WFPP to load my 2 BB's (~1500), and 400 ATM (WF) withdrawal yesterday. In all, unloaded ~1900 in one day . Hope my next load goes through (and of course unload also). Then, I will be done with meeting the spend requirements on my last AOR.
