Sorry if this has been answered, but I've read the wiki and through most of the thread and can't seem to find it.

Can you withdraw from AP to a bank account in someone else's name? So not using the same bank account in multiple AP accounts and using AP accounts with different SSN.

So A > B > C > D where A is my SO, B is someone else with a Serve/BB in my name, C is someone else with a Serve/BB under my SO and D is me. Would I be safer just getting a Serve or BB under the individuals and have control of the account?

Thanks!

Tip: you can use BB/Serve DD numbers as a bank account in AP.

So what happens when it doesn't work? Does Amazon not complete your transaction?

you guessed right! :D

now you have a failed transaction.
don't remember what happens to the monthly limit, whether it is reduced or not.

5 minutes for $1?
Makes the hourly wage of $12.

Oh well.

So just got done with my AP with VGC/OV experiment. Did the whole put in a wrong expiration date for the OV when initially added to Amazon and then put in the correct expiration date for the OV. Went to onevanilla.com and verified that it didn't put a $1 hold. However I did see a preauthorization transaction from Amazon.com with $0 so that was good news. Just sent a $500 AP transaction and was completed successfully.

I don't know about the monthly limit being reduced but my guess is that since the transaction didn't officially complete on record, it shouldn't and your funds will be refunded back to your VGC.

It is temporarily reduced, but should be reinstated within a couple of minutes.

I think the $1 auth is just for AMEX gc, no?

Can I use my Gobank or BB account as the bank for AP? Is there any risk?

Only risk is you asking a question that's been answered many times before. ;)

 Really?! I mean... REALLY?! I know on some threads, you need to click to the MS Basics thread... and that apparently is too much work for some people. But the very first post on this page, posted just 1.5 hrs prior to yours, answers your question:

Thanks, I understand that, but does the BB/Serve need to be the same account owner as the AP account?

No (at least IME), but why increase the risk of shutdown? If you can get someone to sign up for AP, I'm sure you can get them to sign up for BB/Serve as well.

I'm sure I could but then I'd have to find a way to unload their BB/Serve. Currently reading through the Serve thread so it might be answered there already.

I liked the idea of using Bill Pay instead of sending checks or using ATMs, but I don't think I can use Bill Pay from someone else's BB/Serve to pay my bills.

*I'd rather be safe though and go the slow and steady route.

Not a problem. Certainly less risky than linking to a deposit account under a different name. The banks don't really care where/how they get paid.
