Flight Changes - Options?
My sister has had a flight cancellation/change notice and am seeking advice please.
In October she is flying LHR to SYD via KUL, originally MH1 and MH123. MH123 has now been cancelled and she has been changed to MH141 which means an overnight 16 hour layover. Obviously this is far from ideal so what are her options, would MH allow her to perhaps change MH1 or to a different day? We've not dealt with MH before so not sure on their flexibility so she wants to make sure she knows what she should expect when she calls them.
If they don't allow changes and she's stuck with this would they provide a hotel for the overnight? She's travelling in business if that makes any difference, no status.
Thanks in advance!

IME early this year, MH is quite flexible when they cancel or if there's a schedule change/delay. You can rebook to any flights +- a few days without worrying about fare difference or your original booking class availability.

They revamped their bundles a few weeks ago. The Flex bundle lets you cancel and get a full refund and it's not significantly more than Basic (they also need to rename basic because currently it's Lite < Basic < Flex). How fast you'll get your refund is another story but the difference between Basic and Flex is only RM65 for a KUL-BKK flight.

Hi, The same has happened to me this week for a trip to Adelaide in October. There was no issue changing my outbound flight from LHR to one that connected better to my new KUL - ADL. There was no additional charge either.
It appears they are cutting their frequency to Australian destinations, is this likely to be so they can use the aircraft on different routes?
