This is odd... Flightradar24 says it's landed, expert flyer lists it as en route and extra details are "0AHOST ACCESS RESTRICTED THIS TERMINAL"

In this particular case, I strongly dislike Flightstats.com's standard message "It is currently later at the arrival airport than the scheduled arrival time and the flight has not yet landed."

Fingers crossed although fearing the worst

You're probably looking at yesterday's. Date would be 08/03

Data ends not too long after takeoff.

Looks bad.

It's still missing and no news on it. Various countries are looking for it.

While it doesn't look good, here's hoping for a better than expected outcome.

It lost contact about 90 mins after take off. Should have reach the gulf of Thailand if it is not hijacked. Could be hard to track if any accident indeed happened over gulf of Thailand.

If communication system breaks down, and the plane is flying, then they could be running low on fuel as it's almost 9 hours past take off for a 6 hours trip?

Even if comm systems and transponder went down, someone would still have spotted it on radar.
Given the length of the flightaware track and the comment that Subang ATC lost contact, it is likely in/around the Gulf of Thailand.

I'm guessing part of the reason would be not wanting to panic family & friends if it was simply a transponder/communications issue.

After it became clear that the flight wasn't going to simply land as scheduled, they would then want some time to get those concerned somewhere secluded and have time to talk to them before the press caught wind and moved in.

Either way, I imagine that search efforts were underway shortly after contact was lost with the plane.

Here's hoping for a good outcome.
