I'm not sure we're still in a crisis (Greece excepted) but I just booked the Taj Campton Place in SF for $190 a night, cancellable, for mid-December weeknights on Expedia.

Third Night Free At FS Santa Barbara
The third night free package works out to a really great rate if you can do weeknights. Actually, was looking at a sunday thru Saturday booking (six nights with two free nights) and still got mid-week pricing (June 10-June 16)
Dlx: $337, regularly $505 weekdays, $675 Weekends
Premier: $390, regularly $585 weekdays, $775 Weekends
Dlx 1BR Suite: $737, regularly $1105 weekdays, $1295 Weekends
San Miguel 1 Br. Suite: $1137, regularly $1705 weekdays, $1895 Weekends
Those third night free rates work out to roughly a 50% discount off the weekend rates for the "rooms" (less discount for the upper tier suites).
The rates quoted above for "third night free" are the average rate for all three nights. The "weekday" and "weekend" end rates are valid for a single night though they may have a minimum stay on summer weekends.
Anyone see similar deals on other FS properties? What was notable about the Santa Barbara property is that it is during a generally "high" season, although yes I know it can be foggy. Any other significant high season discounts at FS or other Lux properties?

I just booked my Spring 2013 (southern hemisphere) trip to the One & Only Capetown at USD280/night (all-in, including breakfast, refundable) via Octopus.com (after 8% TopCashBack rebate) -- ~50% off best rate from hotel's own website.

I just booked a Winter 2013 trip to the Fullerton Singapore at USD235/night (all-in, including breakfast, refundable) via Octopus.com (after 8% TopCashBack rebate). Direct hotel website rate is USD305/night all-in, without breakfast -- about a 30% discount when considering the value of the wonderful Fullerton breakfast.
