I've looked into booking through Virtuoso, and it seems that the UK is not within the Virtuoso network. We are based in the UK. Any ideas?

you just have to book through a virtuoso travel agent (no fees or anything) it doesnt matter where you are located (its similar to what American Express has for Platinum/Centurion cardholders, except anyone can use it)

I wouldn't buy into the "Suite Experience" package unless there is nothing else but rack rates. A transfer is valued at max $100.00 and dinner for 2 at Fives is not worth anything when you consider what else NYC has to offer.

As a UK based resident you can still use a Virtuoso agent, you just have to respect the time zones!

The St. Regis is GREAT during the Pens rehab a few years ago I stayed there. However as soon as the Pen reopened I returned. It has room to improve but no matter its my favorite property in NY. Small and intimate with its own charm. And of course the Pen Top is like no other.... either way you can't go wrong but the Pen has it...

Wirelessly posted (Treo 700p Sprint: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

Can somebody please explain on how to book through Virtuoso and how to find out what properties participate?

I have noticed that a lot of people use their service, but I have always wondered how can one use them.

You need to use a Virtuoso TA. FT's very own DavidO is a registered Virtuoso TA.

I'm sure he can send you some sort of a list of participating properties.

Thanks for pointing me to diners club website. This is a very nice tool to use before you contact a Virtuoso agent.

Summer yes.... Fall, no way. New York city rates are frankly out of control.

gotcha. thanks. at least the luxury and boutique properties often seem less overpriced than say starwood's sheratons and Ws.
