Four Seasons still the best option for families in Vegas?

Hey everybody,

I know NYBanker posted a thread like this a few months ago, so my apologies for posting it again, but I am unable to locate it and with search being down....

Anyway, my family (9 adults, 6 kids) is having trouble getting into the Disney Grand Floridian next October so we are considering Vegas instead. Access to the Mandalay wave pool is a must. But we'd like something a little more luxurious than that. Do both the Four Seasons and THE Hotel offer Mandalay pool access? And is the Four Seasons the best option for families these days? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

We would consider Belagio but it just seems so big and overcrowded for the itty-bittys.

Guests of the FS have access to the MB wave pool, as well as FS's own pool.

But you might want to check with the hotels as to when the close the pools. The FS one might be open year round but the Mandalay Bay one generally closes in the winter. October might be around when that happens. In any case, in the desert, if its not at least 90 it can feel pretty cool, especially when you jump out of a pool. Otherwise, I have stayed at the FS and I think its great with kids.

Ericka,

Mandalay Bay is actually quite nice, although you do have to drag the itty-bitties through the casino. Not fun. Four Seasons is definitely a good choice, and Bellagio probably isn't. I would stick with that.

You might consider Lake Las Vegas...The pools are not as grand but the RC is very nicely done. 20 minutes to the strip.

FS is a great choice for a family and if you choose to bring your dog, they are pet-friendly, as well.

Both Four Seasons and THEhotel guests have full access to the Mandalay Bay wave pool.

>>Do both the Four Seasons and THE Hotel offer Mandalay pool access?<<

With this concern noted, I would definitely steer toward the Four Seasons. It is a bit more intimate. THEhotel also wouldn't be too bad. It has its own lobby and all of the rooms are rather nice suites. That being said, either way you'll still have quite a trek to the Mandalay Beach.

IMHO, the Four Seasons is the best hotel for families. My kids love it. Not having to walk through a casino to get to the room is a big plus as well.

Staying on the strip, FS seems to be the best option. With the seperate entrance, you don't have to worry about "escorting" your kids all over the place to get to your rooms.

Question about FS Las Vegas

HI. Expanding on the FS LV. I have a few questions that I would like to ask for those of you who have stayed at the FS.
1. When going to the Madalay pool, you need to normally show your hotel key. When you are staying at FS, I know they have you show your FS hotel key at Madalay pool. However, how many room keys do they provide you with at FS so that you can access the Mandalay pool?
2. When you go to the FS, do all of your guests need to have you to go up to your room? Is there a seperate elevator? Are they strick on visitors or can you just have friends meet you up in your room? I am planning on staying there and was going to have a few of my friends come by to hang out while I am staying there. I Didn't know how they are on access or if you have to check in at the desk, etc.?
2 a. What if one of my friends ends up staying the night in my room? Do I need to let the front desk know they will be staying over night?
3. Pertaining to item #2. I know hotel guests get into the FS spa for free, treatments are extra of course. Would I be able to bring a guest with me into the spa? How do they have you check into the spa?
3a. How is the spa at FS? Is it nice?
4. How is the pool at FS? Is it nice?

thanks so much and sorry for all the questions. I am still debating which hotel to stay at.

You can ask the front desk for as many keys as you like when you check in.

You can have friends come up and meet you. I don't recall specifically if you need a room key to access the elevators, but most LV hotels do require that. Regardless, if you want friends to come up, you can either meet them in the lobby and bring them up, or give their names to the front desk, so that the front desk can give them a key.

Who you have stay overnight in your hotel room is your business and your business only - the hotel doesn't need to know

I would think you would be able to bring a guest no problem, as long as one of you has a key - you will need to sign in with your name and room number.

4. How is the pool at FS? Is it nice?
Both are very very nice!!! You'll love it!

Thank you and another question

I know that if you are staying at FS you get into the FS spa for free. Do you know if you can get into THEHotel spa and the MB spa for free as well? Which spa is the best? which pool is the best?

thank you so much!

Keep in mind that if you are going to the pools at Mandalay Bay (including the wave pool and the lazy river), each adult guest (I don't know about kids)needs to have a room key. They are very strict on this. When my wife and I went down to the pool together, only I had a key. They sent us back up to the room to get the other one.
