The fact of the matter is that the hotel was a piece of junk.
At least with people who choose to live there will most likely, with the kind of money they are talking, to keep it in great shape, and with impeccable service it was missing.

It is now up to the developer to find a top notch hotel company to manage the new and smaller hotel and its public function rooms, and there still will be premium flats for those who wish to purchase them.
I am trying to think of a top notch hotel company without significant presence in Manhattan...... Shangri-La perhaps? Kempinski? Orient Express?
