Villa Samadhi in Kuala Lumpur .... its in the city but feels like a beach resort. Great food but very "non-obvious" and maybe not to everyone's tastes or expectations.

Boucan by Hotel Chocolat in Soufriere, Saint Lucia.
Owned by the British choclatier Hotel Chocolat. A collection of bungalows on a working cocoa plantation — with one of the best infinity pools in the Americas, imo.

If you've got young kids, I strongly recommend Cavallino Bianco in the Dolomites - https://www.cavallino-bianco.com/en/...italy/1-0.html We've only ever been in Summer but I assume it works as well in the Winter. Ortisei is an astonishingly beautiful village and it is about 60 seconds from the hotel to the cable car to get up the mountain in Summer, where there are many, many restaurant 'huts' open.
