I wasn’t looking for longer trips, but was focusing on locations and residences. I did just look to give you some idea, though. In the next few weeks, the only location with 14 nights is a hotel in Vail, then mid October it expands to Fort Lauderdale and Deer Valley (both multi-bedroom residences), then by the end of October Tahoe and Nantucket residences seem to also have 14 night stays. It’s definitely true that you’re not going to get long trips close in for places that are in high demand at that time (e.g. Deer Valley in January). But if you’re up for exploring off season, you can get some great deals. My husband and I chose Deer Valley during the shoulder season for our next trip because we’ve heard the leaves are stunning and it’s not crowded.

difference between club and pass is $1,900/mo $22,800/yr
clearly more would have pass if availability was the same "Certain Collection options may be excluded from such availability" now says max 14-day stay rather than original max 60-day stay has / had "Opportunity" "Guest Traveler Accounts" with max 28-day stay $600 + $300 family share / $500 friend share $2500 + $300 family share / $500 friend share going public via SPAC, quick glance suggests not a ton of financials yet nddomer04, suggestions to pass along to your contacts > - start planning now for having multiple tiers. entry either $500 or $1000 at first, possibly up long term with demand. then higher tiers up to unlimited amount. for example $1m per month for commensurate yacht charters (up to several million per week excluding expenses), hotel buyouts, added-on over-the-top catering for events with many guests, etc. yachts could be the next thing after their current real estate push. considering all the new rent-from-owner apps etc for cars including supercars, could even explore that. long term they absolutely do not want people doing pass intermittently rather than a subscription. shareholders and stock market analysts do not want that. what they want is a base subscription, that people can change every month. cant recall where i have seen this, but for example Exclusive Resorts and a few others did that IIRC on an annual basis in terms of picking number of nights each year, with ER at one point saying 10 minimum. any higher tiers would allow totally different offerings and target audiences possibly including truly unique (in market) offerings which are practically nonexistent right now, in terms of things equivalent to the houses at sea island and RC grand cayman. (at higher price level.) few 'aspirational' marketing styles could match that kind of thing. don't even need to sell many if any at top level(s). while many of us here find it ridiculous, it works. - besides subscribers and average monthly per subscriber, also average additional monthly spend per subscriber. CNBC's Cramer has long been suggesting apple should do spend per customer including over lifetime. apple added services revenue after reaching certain level. Sarah_travels, thanks for precise availability. presumably different after october 2021 change > place your Pass in use for a specified number of Pass Days towards your reservation. When the Pass Days are complete, your Pass becomes available to make your next reservation (independent of your travel dates). Hold multiple Pass reservations at the same time. |
Hi -
I just started a 3-month Club trial subscription. I am open to Pass as well. My wife and I are both WFH and value oriented. So far, the Pass options look very underwhelming. Many are just 2 or 3 nights. It looks like Pass has a new reservation system where you use "nights" I.e. are locked out of booking for a certain number of days. If I'm thinking about that correctly, it seems that each "night" just costs you around $83 ($2,500/30). So a 10-night reservation costs you $830, etc. nddomer04 and Sarah_travels are you still happy with your pass membership? Any recommendations for maximizing Club beyond just checking Jaunt and Jaunt 52? Thanks! |
We are still happy with Pass. You are correct that the reservation system has changed to using "Pass Days" which is the number of days your Pass is tied up. There are a couple of nice things about this. First, whereas in the past you couldn't book your next trip until you checked out of your current one, now you can fully fund a trip that is multiple months out with Pass days and be able to book something else before going on the first trip. This is great for planning trips multiple months out if that's important to you. It's also great if you have a few months of the year that you can't travel, because you can use your Pass to plan for later trips while still leaving it open for flexible grabs once that trip is fully funded. In addition, they've changed the cancellation policy so that if you fully fund a trip with Pass days then decide to cancel more than 60 days out you can get those days back as cancelled days that you can spend in chunks at any time. For example, we are sitting on some cancelled days right now and our Pass is currently tied up for a trip to Scottsdale in a few weeks. Last week I saw a great last minute deal pop up for a 2 BR villa at Terranea Resort in LA, and I was able to use 9 of our cancelled days to grab it while still keeping our Pass accumulating days for our Scottsdale trip. In the past, if my Pass was in use my only option would have been to drop our current reservation to grab the new one.
As I said previously, the best value for Pass is for those people that are extremely flexible both with dates and locations and are ready and able to travel at the last minute. In the case of Terranea, our Pass day cost worked out to $739.71 (9 Pass days x $82.19). Booking directly throught the resort would have been $5656.17, so that is a very significant savings. Further out trips don't tend to have that sort of value though. In terms of length of trip, you are right that close in usually the best you are going to do is 4 nights, so if longer trips are important to you, it may not be the best fit. I do routinely see awesome 3-4 night trips pop on in the 1-3 week out range, but they are usually booked almost imnediately - definitely a he who hesitates is lost situation. Given that the best deals go quickly, the odds that you are going to see one at the moment you log on are relatively low, so keep that in mind in terms of what you're seeing and how you would use Pass. In terms of Club, the best deals are Jaunt and twice a year sales (usually June and December). |
Booked my first trip with my Club trial. Used Jaunt to book Mahogany Park City here in a couple weeks. $990/nt + tax.
will report back! |

Took my first Inspirato trip.
We booked mahogany in Park City for $990 per night. Looks like it’s as low as $750 in the off season as $3k+ on high season. Overall, the property was pretty nice. I was interested in how Inspirato worked in practice compared to luxury hotels. Some observations: - The quality of the house was quite high - That said, being a house, there were some quirks and issues. Namely, we had an issue with the thermostat. - I found the “hands on” approach of Inspirato a bit much. I felt like before and during the stay, there were 7+ emails and calls from Inspirato introducing us to different people, teams, etc. My preference would be just to have a single point of contact. - Similar to above, the “human touch” actually made it more inconvenient at times. While the concierge certainly meant well, meeting at certain times to open the house and waiting for her at times was more hassle than it was worth. - While Insp. certainly met expectations, there was no “wow” moment or anything. I thought maybe they would have given us a bottle of wine for our first stay or something. - Inspirato had a lot of branded stuff - towels, q-tips, etc. Overall it was a quality home rental, and certainly a huge value proposition for larger parties versus a hotel. But I am not head over heels in love with Inspirato, and I don’t think it really disrupt the home rental industry that much. Jm https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...4f8e1206c.jpeg |

Dad was contacted by Amex about allowing his property to be rented by [inspirato]. I'm not entirely sure of the terms, but it's enough that the mortgage, fees, and utilities are covered, while still retaining 50 days of use per year. So not bad.
inspirato.com/details/tips-trends/inspirato-launches-new-real-estate-brand "Inspirato Real Estate’s unique solution for buying, selling, and managing luxury vacation homes" emphasis on managing, in terms of signing new leases, to increase supply for their members if homes are members-only, may be similar to airbnb homeowners being given data on guests current club price may not be much of an entry barrier, but there is also membership agreement on 03/27/22 inspirato pass website shows these counts when filtering "homes" (not "hotel") > 1BR 10 2BR 70 3BR 91 4BR 117 5BR 44 6BR 26 7BR 4 8BR 1 9BR 2 significant percentage are condos at hotels, probably safe to say majority of them are and pretty sure there would be filter for single family homes if there were more of them seems like they could easily have pass membership tiers that differentiate properties, and they could still put higher tier properties in lower tiers at last minute if they are not booked, but maybe that is more of a medium term thing even at this point presumably number of club and pass members will be a key metric in quarterly earnings reports, in terms of competition for availability |
thank you for the informative thread.
I am considering Inspirato. Our travel style these days is mostly 2 adults, who prefer short stays (3 nights and less), in nice apartments and not hotels, mostly in European, S. American, and Asian cities and towns, but never resort locations. Does it sound like Inspirato would work for us, or is it mostly geared towards families in popular vacation spots? |

I've had the Inspriato pass for 8 months now and just recently got a second pass. I love it. I averaged 2 trips a month with one pass. Now the skies the limit. I have been to the most amazing locations and get an incredible value from Inspirato. When you pre-pay 6 months, you don't have to pay any initiation fee and they included my family at no additional costs. My adult kids or my parents can use the pass on their own without me having to accompany them. They also gave me two guest passes so I can give trips away to friends. (Still counts towards my pass)
I played with the website for a month before signing up. I kept searching for trips during that time. I made sure that the trips I saw before I became a member will still be the same once I join. They are. When I search now, sometimes I'm not even signed in and it makes no difference. I have been taking friends and family along and they can not believe the value. My mom kept saying it was too good to be true. It's too good to be true but it still is. I have the memories and the photos to prove it. You can easily get a 4 bedroom house for 3-4 nights with an infinity pool in the Caribbean for 10 pass days. That works out to about $800. Also, there are NO Taxes, NO Resort Fees, etc. Don't join if you work a 9-5, M-F job. Don't join if there is one place you want to go and you aren't flexible. Join if you are retired or can work remotely. Every Inspirato property is amazing. Search the website for yourself and see.... Darren |

Darren The challenge has been that I couldn't believe that I would get enough value. Or, simply, that I'd be able to find properties to stay in. Can you tell us more about how you use it? How do you select properties? How are you getting 2 trips per month? That seems like the crux right there. Would greatly appreciate any more details you can provide. 🙏 |

$30k value on a single trip when paying $60k per year is a good illustration when it's available
$2500 per month / 2 trips = $1250 per trip has anyone booked trips in advance, then added on to both front and end of stay, over time, making it a longer stay ? |
We just signed up for Inspirato Pass and had our first trip a couple of weeks ago to NYC (Dominick Hotel). Worked out great for us. Will post back after a few months on our feedback but so far so good.
