I didn't say it was appealing, just that it made more sense.

So I have this narrowed down to 2 hotels

Belmond Jimbarah Bay
Amarterra

This is a quick jaunt after a work conference - cant pay Aman prices since ILl be in Zil Payson a month earlier.

What one of these two seem better? Amarterra looks nice (400 a night) but Belmond is virtuoso and includes a $200 credit. What one of these areas has better beach?

presumably not low season? (aman $500 Undiscovered)
edit, looking at august >
$700 Undiscovered, only $100 discount not $200

going back to location of day/night club pool at FS jimbaran >
https://www.bing.com/maps?osid=48ab3...=2&form=S00027
its basically next to some of the villas and residences

As an alternative, try Kayumanis? Would probably work out cheaper than both.

As you were looking at Belmond Jimbaran Bay, go for the Kayumanis at Jimbaran. It's actually just next door to the Belmond. Big villas - not the best hardware in terms of quality of furnishings, but they'll do (same with maintenance). Food is very good (albeit a bit limited in terms of range - the local stuff is brilliant) and service is also very warm and thoughtful. Think the Jimbaran one only has 19 villas - this is the one I visited. They have one in Nusa Dua too.

Don't do The Gangsa (or whatever it's called now) despite the very attractive pricing as it's currently under or about to be renovated I believe.
