Bali has too many options. Sent you a DM so as not to clog up this thread.

Am considering returning to Bali. We stayed at the RC Cliff Villa a few years that was an exceptional stay. The villas is enormous with one of the largest pools we've ever had. The price has increased post Covid which I'm fine with, however they want full prepayment, even on a flexible rate. I never prepay hotels.

We need a Private Pool Villa with separate living and bedroom with Ocean views.

The FS looks quite dated in its aesthetic. Bulgari villas have no living space inside.

So considering

Jumeriah Bali in an Ocean Pool or Panoramic Ocean Villa (Can't seem to find any TRs on FT)

or Soori.

Are there any other suggestions that meet our requirements?

Have not tried Jumeirah but heard terrible things (dirty beach, etc.) so far, despite the Gathy name gracing the resort. Soori is just wonderful now, especially with Astrid as GM. Forget about FS Jimbaran, dated indeed.

Perhaps also look at Raffles Bali, which is definitely up their in terms of product and service.

Thank you! Solid option. Panoramic Pool Villa looks divine, but no separate living room.

I’d avoid Jumeirah. The villa design is quite nice, but I don’t like the decision to cluster the villas into a group of 2. I think it works if there’s a family who wants to have connecting villas, but I requested to be moved to a different villa when I found out we had a direct neighbor (I don’t get it why they would assign different guests right next to each other when occupancy rate was less than 30% when we were there).

As far as spa, food, beach, restaurant and public spaces — everything was underwhelming. Nothing stands out - food was mediocre, all-day-dining restaurant looks unfinished with no strong F&B concept, treatments at spa were fine but nothing to rave about.

That's disappointing. I'll happily go back to the RC Cliff Villa, but a 30 day prepayment is ludicrous on a "flexible rate."

No ocean view but I stayed at Aman Nusa Dua and it was awesome. Butlers and chef 24/7. Made to order food and it was excellent. Quiet and very private. 25M pool all to yourself. Would return in a heart beat!

Do you have to pay for the food prepared?

Do you pay restaurant prices or "only" for raw-materials? Can you provide your own ingredients (for example from a market)?

When I was there food and drink were very reasonably priced. Breakfast and lunch were included in the package I booked and there were a few dinners included as well. If I remember correctly an iced coffee was about $6, seems quite reasonable for a resort. All the food was excellent, made fresh to order and same with drinks. We sent menus in advance with the time we wanted to eat and the food was served at the location we chose. Mexican and Italian were not on the menu but they still made no problem and excellent.

Has anybody stayed at the Jimbaran Puri recently? Their 2 bedroom cottage is very reasonably priced. We've already done Amanusa Amankila, Chedi and Ritz Carlton (plus quite a few of the 'standard' hotel chains) and are looking for something new.

Deluxe Pool Villas are truly special. Exceptional high level of service too. Had a recent feedback from clients saying that it was undoubtedly the best villa experience they had in Bali...

I've stayed next door at Intercontinental Bali Jimbaran and popped in at Belmond Puri Jimbaran Bali.
Very friendly staff during lunch & dinners at their beachside restaurant and the hotel grounds are quite intimate in a relaxed setting

Although an older video, still the best there is out there in visuals:
Kevin's video about Jimbaran Puri Bali

Ofcourse our own FT: tripreport legend SFO777 has a recent update and provides us with hardcore travel porn:

at thread:

his website with more inspirations and true tried & tested travels

It gets his seal of approval for an easy pleasant stay but mentions the hotel is dated.
YMMV if it fits your needs. But do not expect inroom USB-C, wine fridges and the latest tech....

Disclaimer:
I'm in no way affiliated, but just want to mention that if passing by the Belmond Puri:

the Bulgari Villa might be something:

or if with a group,

Thanks. That video is actually what pushed me in the direction of the Belmond.
