Hong Kong and then Dubai which hotels?
Thanks for looking.
I have read through the various threads but would appreciate more advice.
Going to Hong Kong in May and then stopping at Dubai on the way back.
My favourite hotel is the Ritz Carlton in Singapore- end club suite- to give you an idea. Do quite like four seasons with family but this time its adults only.
Always avoided Dubai until now.
Recommendations very welcome.
A couple of questions. Had a bad experience in the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore this January- like a Novotel with one appalling room . Should I also avoid it in Hong Kong?
Friend suggests Grosvenor House in Dubai- seems very cheap? any thoughts?
No fixed budget but to exceed £500 a night it would need to be fabulous.

dubai >
residence @ one & only royal mirage
dar al masyaf @ madinat jumeirah
in HK why not try club at new RC? FS and IC clubs are less restricted.
vuittonsofstyle, how much are the private pool suites/villas at OO the palm?

Thanks. I will look at them all.
I can't find any reviews for the rc in hk. I know it is new- has anyone been there.
My oh stayed in an intercontintental in china last week and said it was probably the best hotel he had ever been in which is a big claim as we have done some classic hotels. I haven't ever been in one but will look.
We did have one and only mirage booked a few years ago in Dubai but I changed my mind and we ended up in Malaysia. Dubai just scares me a bit as I cant do bling!
We are looking for 4-5 days in each i think.

Totally agree about being scared about Dubai and bling. We have been going to other places all the time in the past just to avoid this. However, I like the look of the new O&O the Palm and we have decided to stay there later this year. It is, however, more expensive than your budget I think.

With pools:-
Mansion Juniors - rack rate $1,110-2,050.
Palm Beach Executive Suites - rack rate $2,300-2,700.
2-3 bedroom Beach Villas - $5,400-7,350
But then that does include breakfast! There again, it does not include 10% tax and 10% service, but then these are rack rates so the real rate should be somewhat less. Bit beyond the OP's budget, I suspect.

Thanks. I am not fixed on budget but as I said it would need to be special.
It's 20th wedding anniversary escape from children! Already blown any idea of a budget by deciding to fly 1st so might as well go the whole hog if it's worth it.
