This looks considerably different to the previous Remote Lands tours as these are private and customisable as far as I can tell.

This is interesting: Canyon Ranch opens small luxury spa resort at Skylonda near Woodside, CA. Only 25 miles from my home so could be ideal two-night retreat in the redwoods with pampering.

Rooms are small, bathrooms may lack separate walk-in showers. Strikes me as pricey. May appeal to younger, rich tech sorts in the area or those traveling to the area for business. Eady to tack on two nights to a business trip.

How should one address emails to Japanese hotels? For example, writing to reservations or a concierge (when I don't have a name) or replying to someone (when I either do or don't know their gender).

If I write to a Japanese hotel, the reply often begins with "Dear Mr Richarddd sama". Replying to that in a similar vein is difficult if I don't know if the writer is male or female.

How about dealing with hotel staff in person?

Is there a better place to ask these questions?

Cuixmala is high on my lust. It’s the sister (or Aunty) property to the fabulous Las Alamandas, just down the road.

Yes there are Aman's in Bhutan aren't there?

Most other places are busy in December, but January and Feb should be good at Hayman Island. And Bali.

And there are luxury hotels in Saudi Arabia if you have a mind to go there.
