Saint Lucia was gorgeous (and HOT). I loved seeing the Pitons from so many angles. From directly across at Ladera, the base at Sugar Beach, and together across the bay at Jade Mountain.
The food at Cap Maison was great. We had an AMAZING meal in the wine cellar two nights ago. The staff at the beach also went above and beyond, serving us Rosé and mangoes in the ocean while we floated the afternoon away. So lovely. The heli back to the airport yesterday was also a fun treat.
More to come...

Well....had Amanpulo booked for July to celebrate my birthday but with all the ISIS activities...thinking about canceling but part of me wants to go anyway as I think most of the activity is in the southern regions but I suppose things could change a lot, for better or worse over the next month.
Was really looking forward to it, too ... but small 1st world problem vs. the actual locals!

I guess it's pretty clear what they will say It's like asking the waiter: Could you recommend your food?
Can,t say something about situation so will keep silent about it. But I would have problems to get the go for a trip now. I guess the fear us not justified but it remains this bad feeling.

#1 - If the resort says "all is fine, come on!" then need to do more research and think it through.
#2 - The off chance resort says "Nope, we're closing down for a few weeks or it's dicey..." then takes all the guessing out and saves me more time.
I don't have much to lose by asking....Also, I'm basically looking for any reasons I can find to justify still going as I've been wanting visit for some time (despite knowing better). It's just a mental/emotional dance I have to endure

Light summer, unfortunately. Returned from a great stay at PH NY a couple weeks ago, which has improved significantly over the years.
August:
Waldorf-Astoria Amsterdam (3 nights)
Aman Sveti Stefan (5 nights)
Followed by spending a week "slumming it" in Croatia with business school friends. Should make for a very fun couple of weeks, with the first half a bit more luxurious than the second!
