I will be transiting through FRA next week and have a question about connections. Arriving on LH 441, traveling in F so I plan to use the Welcome Lounge. Connecting to LH 646. Both flights should arrive/depart from Terminal B.
Will I need to go through a security check and/or passport control when making that connection? I will be traveling with an in-cabin pet and want to leave enough time to get through any security checks.
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

EDIT: looks I was a bit slow with my answer...

Either way, will I have to clear a security check point?

Thanks to both of you for your quick answers. I am currently booked in Y on my second flight. With luck, they will release some more F or C seating before departure , but for now I am stuck in Y. I am traveling on an award ticket. My understanding is that to use the FCL in B, I would need to be booked onward in F. So I figure my best bet is to go for the Welcome Lounge. But I'll happily be wrong if it gets me into the FCL!
Either way, will I have to clear a security check point?

But SAVE THE BP of the first flight. I can't stress this enough.

LH441 could arrive in B or C or A (all in T1). Wherever it arrives follow the signs to gate B22, above which the FCL is located.

Continental Air: #46 IAH-FRA, #51 FRA- EWR BusinessFirst
I am ticketed on Continental Airlines on Continental flights. and am a Lifetime President Club member.
Will I be able to use a Lufthansa lounge In Terminal 1 Hall B area on arrival & Departure? What is the Location for the nearest Lounge?
It has been sometime pre-911, since I have used the FRA airport or traveled to Europe . i assume there has been many security changes for checking in for an 11:20AM International flight FRA to EWR.
How much time should be allowed for Checkin and Clearance?
I am planning on taking a train from Bad Mergentheim to the Frankfurt(M) Airport allowing 2+ hours for check in and Passport Control for the 11:20AM Departure in BusinessFirst Class. Is that enough time for clearance and Boarding?
Also, about how much time does it take on Arrival to pickup luggage and clear Customs.? Hopefully the luggage will be tagged for fast pickup. I have an hour to connect to the train to Bad Mergentheim. Otherwise will have to wait an additional hour. I know the trains are efficient and boarded down below the airport, but don't know how convenient it is from the Terminal 1?
As a Senior, I appreciate any information, that will help me expedite the airport. And I Thank You in advance. Fortunately, I can understand some German, but it is fading from disuse, so it might be refreshed with some serious SPA treatment.

CO flights arrive in the A51-65 gates, you walk down a flight of stairs after passport control and pick your luggage from the A luggage carousel. CO BF pax can use the 'welcome lounge' outside of the gate you walk thru when clearing customs. Catching a train 60min from touchdown is pretty optimistic. I would take it easy, pick up my luggage, have a coffee in the welcome lounge and then head over to the train station.

On arrival the Welcome Lounge is the best option as already suggested by oliver2002. Your arriving boarding pass should give you access to the lounge which is after passport control/baggage claim and behind baggage claim B on the arrival level. Last admission is 12:30 so you will need to get there as quickly as you can.
The train station for long-distance trains is on the upper level. To get there from the Welcome Lounge you'll need to go two floors up by escalator and walk across the bridge linking the terminal and the railway station as well as the Sheraton.
The Welcome Lounge closes around 1:00pm so you can find which might be the most convenient train to catch.
On your return 2+ hours for passport control and security check should be ok. The best lounge for your departure will be the Tower Lounge which is next to/above gate A65.

Thank you Oliver & Newbie!
That was the information & kind of details , that I was hoping for!
Continental website shows Arrival at Terminal 1, HALL B, Gates 501-505(?)
It appears that Arrivals are being moved around various Gates depending on construction or such.

Looking up fares from MLA - TLS, but am rather restricted due to the price!
55 minutes connecting time in FRA, from LH1275 (MLA-FRA) to LH1098 (FRA-TLS) -- doable?

The MLA flight will arrive in the same area the TLS flight will leave from, so 55min are fine.

Today at FRA while waiting for my delayed connecting flight I saw something new to me.
They had special buggies called "Terminal Express" going back and forth concourse A, shuttling pax for free.
Seemed to be inspired by the service of the same name in LHR.
